113 Years of Hua Hin: The Enchanting Land - with pre-event photos

Post by Big Boy »

This 6 zoned show takes place at Hua Hin Railway Station Friday 20th and Saturday 21st.

Following on from the success of the Vijitr 5 light spectacular, we have another lights sensation coming to the old station. I'm quite P'd because I'm away this weekend and will miss it (will miss the classic car show as well).

I've been seeing the lights building over the last few weeks, and combined with the photos I'm seeing on social media, it looks as though it will be good. I intend taking a wander late tomorrow evening to see what is there so far.

Because I'm away at the weekend, I took a wander down to see what I could see. Obviously, with 2 days to go, it's still work in progress, but it shows a lot of promise.

While I was there, they were rehearsing for the shows, which again impressed me.

I think it should be a great event. Apologies for the shaky hand on a couple.

Any idea why they were celebrating 113 years of Hua Hin? Is there something special about that particular milestone?

I thought it was a strange milestone also, but could find no explanation. Hopefully somebody will know.

Found this on Google
113 is known as an angel number, a spiritual message believed to be sent by angels or the universe. Angel number 113, like others, holds special significance and offers guidance on your life's path. It serves as a reminder to align your thoughts, actions, and intentions with your higher purpose.

I think that you may find it is 113 years since the first train arrived in the Hua Hin station.

Yes, but 113 years is still a strange anniversary to celebrate.

Maybe a way to attract more tourists?

Maybe they made a big issue of it when it was 100 years, and have continued every year since?

But they haven't. Pretty sure this is the first time they've had such a celebration in Hua Hin, at least since I've lived here.

Actually, they have had many celebrations centred around the station, with meals and dancing. However, there has been nothing on this scale. Whether previous celebrations have been connected, I've no idea.

Yes, celebrations around the station but as you say, none of the same nature as this.
