Apologies up front, sorry for dragging this up again. But could someone update me on the best way to go about obtaining a yellow book. We went to the Amphur office today and the lady gave my wife a slip of paper in Thai basically listing docs required. One was asking for a translated version of passport and details of parents. Is the whole process worth using an agent for, or can it be done easily another way? not involving a trip to Bangkok. And what if both parents are deceased? as are mine. Anyway, latest advice very much appreciated. GN.

Please see my detailed posts on page 7 of this thread. I used Kruu O, at Sirada Language School as my agent. I never had to go to Bangkok, it was all handled by mail.
