OMG this is disastrous news! My mother would be devastated, thank goodness he outlived her. And what a hair cut! My cousin Pete had a hairdo like that in the 60s...

Strangely, as I read the subject, I remember you went through my mind :D

What I do remember is as a kiddie, trying to sing this one - badly, by the way (I wasn't a fan, but I think I had an auntie who was)

My nan liked him, because he had a much nicer haircut than the Beatles or the Rolling Stones - her words not mine!!

He was a massive star in his day and had a great career. Good on yer mate!
