Have been looking at that myself, it does seem geared towards retirees only though as it forbids working which counts me out for another 20 odd years!

Interesting. But is it as pleasant to stay in Malaysia?

I've got a friend who's been living on Langkawi for a few years now. Whilst I havn't been there myself yet, he raves about it - he's spent quite a bit of time in Thailand and HH as well.
According to him, accommodation is comparable to HH quality and price wise, beaches are better, food's about the same price but more varied (Malay, Chinese, Indian and Thai) and beer's about 15 Baht for a small bottle of Tiger (it's a tax free area. Hope he's not exaggerating there).
He lives on visa runs, but gets 3 months every time he enters the country (that's the equivalent of a 30 day visa exemption here) and Thailand (Satun) is about an hour away by boat. There's no religious trouble there, it's not strict (Muslim wise) and very cosmopolitan.
From his descriptions, it's a part of the world that appeals to me, should I ever have to leave here. I will go and take him up on his offer of hospitality sometime and judge for myself.
