You are correct of course but I'm going to keep up with my wild, unbridled optimism.

We're unbeaten in 8 league games now I think, but if you look at those 8, they are all games that you'd expect Spurs to win bar Liverpool. Yet, including Liverpool, we managed to draw 3 of them. And, as you say, scraped a win against Watford with almost the last kick of the game. We certainly haven't been great but if we can raise our game like we did against Liverpool when we meet the other top teams, I think we're in with a good chance.

We're moving in the right direction. We have the second (or maybe third) best manager in the league.

I'm gonna stick with second. :thumb:

You're going to have to score a lot more goals than you have to date

Although Conte strikes me as a one nil merchant!

Romelu 'The Ego' Lukaku has been dropped from Chelsea's squad to face Liverpool. This is following his interview in which he suggested he could do a better job than Tuchel while admitting his desire to return to Inter.

Good luck against Brighton, Colonel. They're a damn good team at the moment if you can take any points from them it's a good result.

Drew with Chelsea and beat Arsenal in your last 3. Not having a terrible run.

Oh, just turned over to the game. A goal down already, not a great start!

Glad I chose the Everton game, cracker. Everton unlucky not to get something out of it in the end.

The big one up next. Liverpool lose there keeper Alisson, Matip and Firmino to covid (doesn't sound right that, they're still alive just not playing). Klopp will also not be present.

Here's hoping for an exciting draw. 2-2. Point each. 'Nuther opportunity for Spurs to close the gap.

Unlucky? Think you're being kind

Defensively they are the worst team in the Prem I don't care what the stats say. Those first two goals were an embarrassment

Fortunate to get a pen, and can't even keep it under the bar. And why was someone who hasnt played for 3 months taking it? Madness

You get what you deserve in the end.

But yes, I'd have happily taken a point and I know I wasn't the only Evertonian to think this. BHA are a good side as you say

Relegation is on the cards for Everton

Good call!

Decent weekend for you. But Hammers & United won too so not perfect

And a very entertaining game it was, too.

I hope it's taken absolutely everything out of the Chelsea players as we prepare to face them on Wednesday. The extra day's rest might give us an edge, too.

Not yet for United. They did get a win on Thursday but they're playing Wolves at home tonight. Could really do with a favour from Wolves but I doubt it. United are another team that could go above Arsenal should they win their games in hand. Hammers looked back to their best for the majority of the game which is worrying. Gonna be one hell of a top four race this season I reckon.

Bloody hell, that's a blast from the past. Phil Jones is in the starting eleven for United! I actually hope he does well. The amount of stick and ridicule he gets would break the strongest amongst us. Online hate and nasty photos.

They make gifs of him, too. It's disgraceful.

He's still got it. Lovely header from Phil Jones to set up Moutinho for the opener.
