Danny Ings has joined Villa. There were rumours he may be heading to spurs. Just rumours unfortunately.

The Chelsea/Tottenham game doesn't feel like a friendly at all. Fans right up for it! Chelsea battering us all over the pitch. Spurs can't get hold of the ball. Fans are already cheering each Chelsea pass. Looking good. :?

So Messi is leaving Barcelona. Man City might choose to grab him instead of Kane.

Poor Harry might be stuck with us.

The Messi bit just highlights the whole BS with regards to money/salaries in Wendyball for me - I believe the "richest" league is the English Premiership and also understand that it has no "Salary Cap"... Why the feck not? Numerous other sports including rugby do - why is Wendy football the exception? Pretty much criminal behaviour IMHO the way clubs/businesses are allowed to run. 50/100/200/250K GBP per week and the rest for a single player.... Are you taking the piss??!!

High time things are changed throughout the "f'balling world" - squad sizes limited as well as salaries. Realistically, what's a decent squad size - 30 odd? Salary..... ?

Yup, it's an absolute joke. Wages have been completely out of control for a while now. United, City and Arsenal being the worst offenders for sky high individual salaries.
Tottenham are beginning to join the back of the pack though with Liverpool.

'And the rest' indeed! United's goalie David de Gea is on £375k a week and he barely gets a game anymore.

If Messi was the man he should be, he would play one final season for $1.00, retire a hero, then go into management at Barcelona. His home for 21 years is there, his children were born and being raised there, it is indeed home to them. Make a life there after being a player and relish being a legend. He has more money than god now so why extend his career at some other team where he will never be comfortable, and quite possibly not successful.

As sensible as it sounds, apparently it’s not possible - here’s an extract explaining it,

For beginners, even with him playing for free, Messi could not have been registered because the wage to revenue ratio was still 25% higher than the permissible limit. Moreover, he was the last in the line as he was a free agent.

Most importantly, it would be legally impossible. The general Spanish employment law has stated that any new contract, by Spanish law, is required to be a minimum of 50% of the previous wage. This law is precisely to avoid financial manipulation.

To face it, Lionel Messi literally did his all to stay at the club. 50% wage reduction is the least he could legally offer to reduce his salary, and he went all the way. If the club still could not sign him, it was purely because the club had let him down by mismanagement.

I haven't filled out the form yet, and no idea if you can save your selections and how visible the contest is? If I do it 1 or 2 weeks in I'll post what happens after you hit "Confirm Selection".

Get ready, lads. Here we go! A front three of Kane, Son and Messi. Europa Conference League trophy pretty much in the bag.

Well, Kane's going is he not (Man City) - Messi is joining PSG (how can Barca's lawyers stop him if he's a free agent) and Son will just get that pi$$ed off, he'll want to leave..... Sorry to dampen your hopes there blue... :neener:

Liverpool will take back the title, I'll bet my Welsh Y-Fronts on it (nobody seems to want to take the bet though... ).
