Why are Thai massage businesses exempt? That's skin to skin encounters.
I've wondered about that too. I believe it was the same exemption on the previous lockdown. I'd love to hear the Thai 'logic' on that one.

I does state 'traditional' Thai massage, not the enjoyable kind!!
Once your in the room, no one knows what kind of massage you're receiving. Also, Trad. Thai massage still involves touching. Maybe they wear plastic gloves. :tsk:

It is my personal belief that the Governor's order has been re-issued in English (that in itself must be unprecedented) because there is going to be a big clampdown. Adherence to the order to date has been a joke. A lot of people have been using the English version of Friday's CCSA announcement, claiming it's the only English instruction.

The confusion came from seeing massage parlours open along with gyms etc. Most of these businesses are Thai owned. I'm not sure that publishing an English version, much as it is welcomed, will 'educate' the business owners that are flouting the orders.
The police need to enforce these rules. Unfortunately, that means them getting off their backsides and doing their job.

I'm not so sure about that. But I dont call it confusion but generall understanding and behavior outside of our own litte door step in a pandemi. Countless times in the last year of the Covid 19 pandemic, I have experienced foreigners and most recently today, who in their behavior or better lack of such are simply either born extremely rude, deaf and blind or have never heard of the word behavior. So every time the average of us include myself, complains about the tightening of rules and regulations in Thailand, we should perhaps think a little about what the cause ultimately comes from.

I must say, my confusion this time was due to some Farangs seeing last Friday's CCSA announcement in English, and refusing to acknowledge the instruction issued in Thai 3 days earlier. All because the CCSA announcement suited them better. Unfortunately, ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

I had to call into the AA insurance office this morning to sign a form for medical insurance renewal. There were at least 5 members of staff working there, including the lady on reception and I was quite surprised that none of them were wearing a mask, bearing in mind that they must receive many visitors during office hours. Also on our way in, no sign of any checkpoint just before you get to Makro, so it seems that not many are overly concerned with the current situation.

True.

But roughly speaking the no. of cases in Hua Hin in the last 5 days is roughly 60% less than the 5 days before that

So it depends how you want to interpret the data

Also are the numbers dropping (overall) because the mad rush for testing has now abated? We'll never know

Would be good to see a week on week figure soon rather than day on day

My daughter has just returned from a routine visit to Hua Hin Hospital, and the Covid testing queue is manic. She was directed away from the makeshift main car park because it was full of potential Covid patients.

Yes you can be a half full or half empty type of guy, but yesterday was almost a 100% increase, and today is a 25% increase. The current trend is UP.

Good news re testing numbers are still very high, that's encouraging reference the numbers

Yes the current trend is up.... for two straight days!

Last week(7 days to Sat 17 incl) the HH number was 414 or average 59 a day

This week so far(admittedly only 3 days) the daily numbers are much lower and average at 21(64% lower)

In order for this week to even match last week(never mind be of any significant increase) there will need to be a dramatic increase in daily cases to 88 per day each of next 4 days.

Not saying that's not going to happen, just saying its a little early to be saying the trend is "UP".

Especially as I know you don't like sweeping statements.

Found this information dated 19th of April about the situation in Petchaburi, as some people (myself included) wanted to know more about Cha Am
