I went to the bank and withdrew 10,000 baht then went over the desk to update the passbook and get the paperwork for immigration. I looked at the passbook and noticed the balance was off from the immigration letter by the 10,000 baht. I pointed it out and she went and printed the detailed activity for a year. Did you go to immigration today - I know that in the past they have looked for the bank letter to be the same date as you apply for the extension - they might accept one day late, so definitely go tomorrow if you haven’t already been

I did go today, all went well. Arrived about 1 as they were coming back to work and finished 2:10. Had to do a change of address and wife had to report me living there also.

I think you were very lucky pitsch, that is certainly not the norm, and I wouldn't advise anybody to try it. It takes seconds to deposit or withdraw 100฿ when obtaining your paperwork, which is a lot quicker than having to return to your bank. I've known several people who have fallen foul of this.

All this talk of making a transaction had me confused as I've never done that. Just checked my bank book to see what Bangkok Bank do. I mentioned earlier of a 'dummy' transaction. Well in fact it is a 'B/F' transaction code that shows zero movement but has the current date.
I've never asked them to do it though I do check before leaving the desk.

I did extend my visa today, taking all the usual documents with me. But for the first time in 12 years they wanted a copy of the house book. Fortunately I had the house book with me and had only to make a copy. I wonder if this is a general requirement now, or only some idea of the officer. Last year I made the extension with the bank book, this year with income. They did not check if I fulfilled the requirement to have at least 400 000 Baht in the bank all the year. I spent about 1 hour there.

I always prepare copies & take everything. It's easier to do a little bit of preparation up front to save hassle later.

There are several things that aren't on the visa renewal instruction sheet and they can change from year to year, office to office and officer to officer.

If you're in Hua Hin always see the head officer, he's the one who sits at the window around the side. If possible bring a Thai speaker with you. He's a nice person and has been very helpful to us. He goes by the book and doesn't change things to suit himself. ALWAYS avoid the fat lady at the front. The officer next to her is ok but not very experienced.

I have taken my blue book for every visa extension and its always handed back to me as 'not needed'.

But at the end of August when attending to complete a TM3O, having been away for a few weeks, which included a visa extension, the sourpuss we saw said that at the next extension, the blue book abd a copy of every page was now required. I just thought that's a lot of empty pages to copy!

Now downstairs are two tables for temperature checking and for looking at all your documents. And here a young lady asked for the housebook. When i told her that I never had to show it before she asked another lady and she confirmed that I have to put a copy to my documents. Then you get a number here (the numbering system upstairs is not used) and then you go upstairs and your number will be called.

She's unsmiling (she's not alone there), unhelpful and clearly does not enjoy her job. She told a young officer to charge me money to move my visa from an expired to a new passport. I did not comply.

I used to like a guy who I talked to about fighting fish (my dad used to breed them 50 years ago). He moved to Bluport, but now I don't see him at all for many months. Maybe they've put him on raid or sting operations.

A 'book bank' update at a branch does not update all transactions, it only gives you the new balance. That applies at the machine outside and also if you give the book to a teller.

I use the retirement monthly income method, does anybody know if they will accept bank statements printed from the banks website, they already have the original bank book and credit advices containing all the info, along with the letter from the bank itself?

Have people been asked to provide proof of the oveseas income, in my case two pensions?

Gov - last year (and I stress last year) I printed my own statements which the Bank endorsed. I did also submit to Immigration my pension statements, although they may not be technically required.

Sorry to be late to the party, I'm only here because my extension is due at the start of Feb.

Feb 2020, using the 65k per month foreign income method (with no embassy letter possible) I was asked by HH Immig. for individual A4 monthly bank statements showing the individual monthly receipts. and showing the remitting bank outside Thailand. They were not interested in a composite 12 month bank statement as it does not clearly show where the money originated. I'm surprised to read otherwise. Kbank will print and stamp the last three month's free, but if you forget to collect them then earlier ones will cost 500 Baht each.
