Im from Iceland and I can't djump out to the next bank and get some BHT.
Is it better to bring USD or EUR and change it to BHT when I arrive?
How are the ATMs there. Do the accept all major creditcards an debetcard such as Maestro an Visa?

For security, I'd bring travellers cheques. Go for Euros as I believe they're stronger than the dollar at the moment. There are plenty of banks and exchange booths all over town, so you won't be caught short of money until about 9-10pm when they close.
Atm's open every other day, it seems. They almost all accept visa/master card as long as you've got the "electron" sign. Your bank back home may charge you for withdrawing your hard earned cash. Most shops and decent restaurants accept credit/debit cards as well.
