Thai national coming to visit farang at home (UK)

Post by ahandpatsy »

Given the recent news about the country not being open until next year it and then facing all kinds of restrictions, I do not believe I will have the opportunity to visit on a tourist visa until say March

So my gf has suggested that instead it is better for her to come to england to see me.

Yes she will be quarantined but at my house. :naughty:

And she can get back into thai without quarantine.

I know she would have to get visa, but I wonder about flights.

We are thinking not now but in say November

Any thoughts folks ?

Regards
Ah

Why do you think she can get back in without quarantine?

Thais have to quarantine on return as well - it just costs them a fraction of the price.

ahhh sorry I misread migrant earlier post. OK I guess thats up to her. Hopefully there might be a point in the near future where that changes.

Its still easier for her to visit. I have no chance for 6 months I think

Based on my Thai daughter's return from the US, it can become very expensive. She would need to get a Certificate of Entry. That's produced after applying to the Thai embassy and being approved here in Thailand. Following that, the embassy will put her on a waiting list for a repatriation flight. They will inform her when and which flight she'll be on. The cost is not cheap. In my daughter's case, it's around 2,500 USD.
She will need a 'Fit to Fly' certificate from a doctor and when she arrives in Thailand, she will be in quarantine for 2 weeks.

I know a Thai who thought she was basically exempt, and travelled regardless of what others told her. She purchased a return flight. Her outward journey was without difficulty. The return leg of her flight was cancelled, and she now has to jump through the various Thai hoops (one of which is an excessive flight cost), which she refuses to do. She is now resigned to being trapped outside of Thailand until at least next year.

Is it at the moment? How easy will it be for her to get a visa?

When a country goes into a deep recession, IMO the green tourist visa light comes on, and Thailand is a clean country so to speak concerning Covid.

Of course the normal procedures like "reason to return" to her homeland will still be in force.

I think what BB said is the most worrying...ability to return, and cost to return.

I agree with the others that getting back to Thailand will be expensive and a pain. Unless you are ready for her to quarantine at your place for a few months.....

I guess we will just have to wait and see if the ease of return problems get better

She has business so its important knowing she can get back when planned

How can this be gauged though i wonder

Thanks for your feedback

Assuming she can get a UK visit visa, when would your GF be intending to travel and for how long? Although there’s no guarantee, many people are hoping and praying that as we get further into 2021, restrictions will begin to be lifted

My son was due to visit the UK next year and was going to take his Thai wife with him. Trip has since been cancelled. I was so impressed with the work Key Visa did with my passport renewal, I enquired whether they could help with my daughter-in-law's visa. This was their response:
This is not as complicated as it sounds, they are both working so that helps

your son would have to show his bank statements in Thailand to financially sponsor the trip so having around 200,000 bht in there would be good

the UK end we would need just a wedding invitation and also 2 x utility bills for the place were they will be staying with friends, family etc

because its a bit more complicated than normal staring 3 months early would be good

UK Tourist visa 6 months

To be fair its not just the documents needed, its the letters of guarantee, the presentation of the documents, saying the correct things to the Embassy officers which is why most people need that support especially the Thai so my job is to support the foreigner’s side of the application and my Thai staff are there to help your partner through the full process.I have given you details below of the costing and the procedure of the tourist visa.

To start the process, you pay the small deposit then we would start advising on the documentation required and open a case file its always advantageous to start early to get everything organized. we are not motivated by money but we need to start somewhere and it must be done professionally.

There are elements of the procedure that can be nearly impossible for an applicant to do themselves as the presentation is Key to success and if you go in Blind expect to be refused the visa.

Tourist visa

• You pay a 10,000 baht deposit which we use to pay the Embassy, translations, submission, collection
• Only on receipt of the visa do you pay 20,000 baht more
• Total package is 30,000 Thai baht and no more

Work done by Key Visa

• Inform both parties of the documents required
• Make a case file
• Copy all the documents supplied in color
• Do all translations required
• Do the application form required
• Book the appointment and take the applicant to Bangkok to have their Fingerprints taken
• Pay for the visa application
• Track the application and inform you both when a decision has been made
• E-mail you a scanned copy of the visa so final payment can be made
• If required we can post the passport, documents back to the applicant

Please note the applicant does not have to travel to our office is Pattaya we can do by the phone and e-mail and the sponsor can e-mail their documents as we only need copies.

If you wish to proceed there are 3 ways the deposit can be dealt with:

• You can pay paypal or with a credit card on our website www.keyvisathailand.com
• If you already have a PayPal account our ID is keyvisa2@gmail.com
• Or I can send you an electronic invoice you can pay with a card

• Your Thai partner can call my staff Ann on 0854310390 and discuss the procedure and sending us the deposit through her Bank

• Or Bank deposit

Siam Commercial bank

Name Darren Ernest McGarry

Number 8632384446

Swift code SICOTHBK

Please advise when the deposit has been made

We have been in the business of getting visas for 14 years and we want to be paid as much as we want to get the visa and hope we can start the process and work together.
The e-mail is keyvisa2@gmail.com. These guys are friends of the Forum, and have done excellent work for many of us (albeit, not for UK visas). I would suggest you contact Darren and test the waters. He has always responded very quickly to my enquiries.

If you like what he says please let us know - it may help others.
