Captain-not so- sensible, even if the "slags" were the best looking in the world, you wouldn't get much fun with them if you look down or refer to them in this way.

Can we keep this on topic please.

Feel free to start another thread in the relationship section about the virtues of bar girls.

Until it has some of the following it will not attract an international clientele
1. An International School
2. A few low cost airlines willing to fly to the Airport.
3. Beach restaurants.
4. A cinema
5. A shopping centre
5. A Supermarket

The fact that almost none of the locals who work in the tourism industry are able to communicate in English or other important languages is a shame for a so-called "Royal Beach Resort".

The problem of the exposed and straying dogs is known for many years, unfortunately, nobody of the authorities feels responsible like so often.
The wish for competent policemen, more road safety, or even a town planning office is also not new.

Sometimes I have the impression that decades of the tourism have passed the responsible Thais without extending their spiritual horizon.
Our Thai-friends probably seems to expect that the Farang pay always well and, of course, more and more for the same or even lower standard.
Claim thinking is not desired!
In this case the Farang isn't a welcome human ATM anymore, but only a thankless person.

Changes can be barely expected, because there is no foreign lobby or tourist's lobby, which is respected by the authorities...., and I doubt very much that the Thais would generally admit such a lobby.

The sewer at the end of Naresdamri Rd has been dug up and repaired.

Maybe "Big Brother" is watching this forum?

The last three are on the way, a huge shopping complex is being constructed on Petchkasem road, just south of Salesian school, it will have supermarkets, home improvement stores, cinema and bowling alley.

I have heard conflicting reports that the supermarket will be either a Carrefour or a Tesco-Lotus. Any ideas which is true and when it is scheduled to be finished?

I have been told it will have both in there, along with a huge furniture store. Sheduled for October but this is very optimistic.

That's good to hear. We're in process of having house built & were wondering what shops were in HH for us to kit it out , the new shopping centre could make life a bit easier. I hope the cinema will show films in English or is this too much to hope for?
