This is a shame, he's a fun guy to watch play. His absence will affect the All Blacks offense in a big way as well. :( Pete

Milner-Skudder's season over

"Nehe Milner-Skudder's Super Rugby season is over after the Hurricanes revealed he will require shoulder surgery.

The All Blacks winger sustained the dislocation in last Friday's victory over the Blues and his loss will be a bitter blow for the 'Canes as they look to get their season back on track after two early losses......"

What? He was born in 1990, he's 25-26 and scored 6 tries I think in The World Cup. You must be thinking of someone else. Pete

Today's question.....can there be a knock on in the goal area by the team on offense, or if the ball comes loose like that with all feet within the goal area and eventually grounded, a try is awarded? Pete

Very sad with regards to Rabeni (as it is for anyone of his age) - had totally missed this. Saw him a couple of times for Leicester, but can't say I was a great follower.

As far as I know, the only exception to the "Knock-on" rule is the "Charge Down". Therefore any "knock-on" (prior to grounding) within the goal area would result in a 5m scrum - awarded against the offending team obviously.

As an FYI, it appears that .rugby domain names are coming on line during 2016. It seems only pre-registration is being offered by the domain registrars at the moment. So.......anyone interested in opening a .rugby site, now is the time. :D Pete

^ I've been to games in Singapore, but never made it to the World 7's there (have done S.A., HK and U.K.) - something that's on the "Bucket List" along with Barbados etc., etc.!!

Perhaps a slightly different level  ..... went to the Swalec Cup Quarter Final game (Pontypridd v Merthyr) this weekend - take a look at the video for the conditions. Amazed the match was not called off..... still, the Cider was good!! :thumb:

LOL - That reminds me of the Bristol vs Cleve match played at Dings (that will mean something to pharvey) a few years ago. My son didn't get on until the 75th minute, but the first thing he had to do was secure a loose ball to prevent a try that had settled in one of the many lakes on the pitch. Of course he dived on the ball with a huge splash.

The only plus side to that game was the Dings baths afterwards - by far the best in the area. I would think they needed a dredger to clean them afterwards.

My son works in Sydney for a UK company whose CEO is a former England and Lions player so he was able to visit the England dressing room at the Sydney Sevens. He is planning to go to the next Hong Kong sevens.

The "Crusaders" were and are a cracking side and club (with amazing facilities). We had some serious battles against them - I've had a few injuries and made many friends. This is what rugby is! Hope your son enjoyed the same.

[EDIT] Aside from injuries!!

Fair play to the man - a great ref and a great honour for him :thumb:

Nigel Owens Set to Break World Record as He Becomes Most Experienced Referee in History of Rugby

"Welsh referee Nigel Owens will achieve another magical milestone when he becomes a world record holder by taking charge of his 71st Test match this summer.

Owens will referee the Fiji and Tonga match in Suva on June 11 and become the most experienced international referee of all time, taking over from Jonathan Kaplan of South Africa, who refereed 70 tests during his career.

Since making his Test debut in 2003 when Portugal beat Georgia 34-30 in Lisbon, Owens has developed into one of the most respected match officials in the game’s history.

From Cardiff to Christchurch and from Krasnoyarsk in Siberia to Kingstown in St Vincent, he has travelled the world with his boots and whistle for the past 13 years.

In that time he has taken charge of 16 Six Nations matches and 12 in The Rugby Championship, as well as three European Cup finals and, the biggest one of them all, the Rugby World Cup final between New Zealand and Australia at Twickenham last October.

He was also named the world's best referee in 2015."

^ Yes, hats off to him. I really enjoy a match when he's working it. He's been at it for 13 years now and I hope he has 7 or so more in him. Pete

PS: Can he make a living doing this, or is it a sideline activity/income?
