errrrr ok,but it must be in the hallway or a bedroom converted.

seriously though Mike, the best thing about avalon is driving out of it. :D :D

you have said it better than anyone else can 'Avalon is value for money' theres no arguement about that,pay your 1m baht and you have your dream home on the costa del hua hin.great holiday home.
but dont mistake value for money with good quality.because quality they aint!!!!! 'you get what you pay for'

i could go on and on and on but i wont, cos my keyboard cant take the hammering
makes me bloody mad it does

Thank you for the two posts very pointedly, and, I am sure, oozing sincerity, lauding the Toledo by Avalon.

This is from the Avalon website:

(Toledo) Features

* Living Room
* 3 Bedrooms
* 2 Bathrooms
* Terrace
* Swimming Pool

There's no kitchen in features, nor in drawings. None, zero, zilch, nada.
But, of course, the clever buyer will be able to fit the brazier and the wok
in either of the toilets and call it kitchen.

Thank you for registering today, all of a sudden, like, out of the blue and defending your interests sincerely, like.

When I lived in the UK I was alway advised to take a long walk down Southend pier. Maybe that was the place to invest.

Guess that was a little straight to the point by Jimmy G. I think Avalon along with many other can we call them developments or get rich quick projects, have the same problems. Mr johnny big b*****ks comes to Hua Hin with his hard earned money and wants to make out he or she know jack about building. That coupled with the fact they know very little thai, the laws out here and the way the average thai works is like a chocolate fire guard.

On the face of it with a nice fancy brochure anyone can sell.... But who can deliver....
Thats me Im on my way to luxury

that's quite a bitter little post, roundeyes. Reads like you have either a vested interest or an axe to grind, or both?

(I do know of a top class development to the north of town on personal recommendation if anyone wants to pm....)

Think roundeyes post is bang on.
There are some good developments to be found, you just have to know where and who to ask.

Lots of opinions from people with axes to grind (or so it seems) and nothing concrete to offer.

A previous poster Mike1 has bought there and is happy with it.

I have bought there and I'm happy with it too and I've had 2 holidays in it in the past 8 weeks.

If I had paid twice or 3 times the price, then I would expect the quality of some fittings to be better, but remember, this is Thailand and you don't always get what you want or what you paid for.

I've got a reasonable quality, well designed house at a good price and friends who have visited and who have a good knowledge of numerous other developments in Hua Hin have confirmed this.

Read other posts and other forums and you will see that houses with price tags far in excess of the asking price at Avalon have problems.

The original poster appears to have bought a Toledo which is the smallest style available. He intends to use it as a holiday home.

Some people here need to get a reality check.

If that's what he can afford then good luck to him. It's a house in sunny Hua Hin and I'm sure he will enjoy his holidays in it.

I think a Thai style kitchen can be fitted somewhere, but in any event why do you need a kitchen.

The town centre is only 5 minutes away and breakfast, lunch and dinner can be obtained very easily and very cheaply.

That's my tuppence worth.

I hope the abusive posters continue to enjoy living in their 30 million Baht luxury palaces and continue to enjoy looking down on the rest of us minions, who actually have to work for a living and get bye as best they can.

GIRFUY !!!

Your right there 2dandan, most projects regardless of price have some problems.

Just thinking about the Avalon concept - Spanish villa (in Thailand) in a lovely climate - do you think that any buyers were looking at buying a villa in Spain and found Avalon here in Thailand offering a Spanish villa at a fraction of the cost of buying the same thing in Spain. Could have been a very clever concept from the get go.

Well said 2dandan.
And I have no axe to grind, no interest in property at all. I rent. However, the OP asked a simple question which some have tried to answer, whereas others have just slagged off his choice. Whether members agree with his choice or not is immaterial, he's made it. If you can offer something constructive to the OP, I'm sure he'd like to hear it :cheers:

I can agree with all the positive posts re Avalon We were one of the first to move in in August, we have bought a Sevilla . We saw our villa on numerous stages of development and my other half who is in the building trade was very impressed with the build. We had a few snagging issues the main one being the air con. I stayed for 6 weeks , living on the building site everyone was so helpful. Before I left we had 2 horrendous rain storms , the drains worked well and we had no problems. The agents were on site to check all the propertys, efficient!!

As far as services, when we bought our villa there was no mention of serices like 24hr security, communal pool , shop etc these were all added bonuses. Avalon have been great to deal with and have listen to our concerns and supported us through the whole process.

The poster who called Avalon shite , :twisted: needs to get a life preferably not in Hua Hin or even thailand. There was no need to be so offensive , I take his comment quite personal and feel sorry for someone who spends his time slagging off something he does not know blatently anything about.
Enough said. :guns:

Re original post personaly I would not buy a Toledo as you get more for your money in a Sevilla. However we have a beautiful kitchen which I did not use much it's so cheap to eat out and the food is so good.

We are busy packing, we fly out on Christmas day can't wait. If original poster wants any info please contact me before Sunday :cheers:

This isn't an attempt to stir shite but it seems the Avalon development attracts a fair amount of nastiness.
There must be 25 or 30 developments in the area that are in various stages plus others now completed but I don't detect the kind of negativity directed at Avalon.
Objective critiquing of a project is fair enough but some feel the need to erupt with general comments without any concrete information, just a stream of bile.
What is it?
Do some feel they have been slagged off by the developers and not accorded the respect they feel they deserve?
Do they not like the paper the brochure is printed on?
Did they not have a proper BM that morning?
Much of the slagging puts me in mind that there is something personal that's unstated.
If people don't like a project, fine. Horses for courses.
But why not just move on to another until the appropriate mix of price/quality/location is found rather than spewing venom for no apparent reason?
