I bought a small BBQ and charcoal briquettes from Makro, but can't find any lighter fluid. Have been making due with papers to start it, but a pain. Anyone know where to by the lighter fluid?
As mrs m said, wood would have been better, but, of course, she said that after the bag of charcoal was brought home, not while in the shopping cart
Thanks!
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
The Thai 'wife' uses bits of an old inner tube she gets from the local bike shop and a bit of kindling made from garden trimmings, then charcoal. I let her light it and then I do the cooking!
Enjoying 'Retirement'....So many jobs to do, I don't know how I ever had time to work!
Go to most Thai hardware stores that sell charcoal....... They will also sell BBQ fuel..... No idea what the Thai name is..... But they are circular aluminium discs with a solidified fuel inside...... A box of 50 will cost about 140 Baht........
I too have been looking for lighter fluid like we have in the US. So it is good to know that Villa Market has it. I use newspapers & small twigs to start the grill but just a few squirts of real charcoal lighter fluid would be a dream. I have to drive up from Prachuap Khiri Khan but it will be worth it because I can also buy beef which we do not have in Prachuap or Klong Wan where I live.

A bit late, but I thought I would relate what I saw 2 days ago. It was my son's birthday party, and one of the delights he had requested to be served up was a Korean BBQ.
His sister lit the charcoal, and to do it, she got a discarded 4 pint milk bottle and cut it in half. The top half went back into the recycle bin, but she filled the bottom half with charcoal. She stood it in the middle of the BBQ fire pit, and put more charcoal around the half bottle. She then just lit the 4 corners of the decapitated bottle, and left it. It lit the coals perfectly.
