Wow - the light show in your direction was quite spectacular when I was walking on the beach last night, but I couldn't imagine what it was offloading on you guys.

Yeah, it REALLY off loaded. Driving anywhere this morning is an obstacle course of boards, trees and junk sure to puncture many tires. At the end of my road, sand has washed in from somewhere and accumulated in a pile half a meter high! It looks like the beach when the tide goes out. Between my house and daughter's school there is still deep and flowing water....almost to my Pajero Sport door bottoms. All land here slopes towards the sea 2 km away and it looks as if there is still much water to make the journey this morning. Pete

was sunny, hot and clear this morningin Khao Takiap, now huge dark clouds to the west northwest with thunder in the distance over HH and CA. actually not so distant now. looks to be very slow moving.

Rain on way across country till Sunday

"Rainfall will continue to hit most parts of Thailand from today until Sunday as a monsoon trough strengthens in the upper part of the country.

Provinces in the North and Northeast will encounter the next round of rainfall today and tomorrow while those in the Central Plains and the East will experience the same over the weekend, according to the Meteorology Department."....

Just as I posted the above the heavens opened over here and we're now getting drowned. Much cooler and notice my winds coming from the NE. Hua Hin from the North so expect you'll have some nice autumn breezes over there today. Pete

No rain in Khao Takiab yet, we always seem to miss most of the downpours, it was extremely black yesterday afternoon and we could see and hear thunderstorms in Khao Tao from the balcony.

My little town again starting at 1730 hours. That's Sukhumvit highway folks! Still going at 2000 and now no power. If keeps up all night evacuation will become a serious concern. :( Pete

This one which is an hour old shows it heading directly towards Hua Hin. If it's coming, it should be there shortly!

It's had plenty of thunder and massive lightening associated with it so you should be able to see that out at sea now.

Did any of that hit Hua Hin and vicinity last night?

We had no power most of the night and it actually got chilly at 22.
