This loop you posted a few days ago is continuously updating and worth looking at now. Pete

This is getting serious where I am. Roads and bridges are washed out in several areas along the Chonburi/Rayong provincial border. Schools, including Internationals, dismissed at 1300 and closed tomorrow. Thai folks are actually using the terms, "....never seen this before in my life....."

I wonder how Bangkok is doing as this I believe is hitting there as well. Pete

After all the promises, its barely been a damp sqib on this side. I've seen more rain on a decent summer's day in the UK. A real disappointment - I was looking forward to taking the truck out this morning.

Yes, it looks like we've been 'spared', there was a couple of welcome heavyish showers overnight but the cloud looks very thin today, the sun has broken through a number of times this morning and there's almost no wind to speak of. I doubt it's the quiet before the storm.

As always with the weather, it can vary quite considerably even within a relatively small radius. We've certainly had it a lot worse before, but still had at least 5 cms over the past two days.

TNN24 (True 7), the Thai 24 hours news channel, is running reports of the damages and flooding in this area. A road I take all the time literally swallowed a car and it washed to places unknown underground  Klongs have turned into rivers. Pete

Where I am (Phrakhong), it is overcast, but no wind or "storm" in sight. There was a heavy downpour around 11-00 am this morning, and there must have been some rain overnight, as roads wet this morning. Usually, if there is a big downpour, the underground carpark gets flooded, but nothing there today.

The SW Monsoon still prevails, and I think that where you are Pete, the storm is getting mixed together with the un-usual result that you are seeing.

Thai Channel 3 just said Bangkok was going to "get it" tonight. Heavy rain and wind. Where I am another 100mm+ in the next several hours. A damn on the border of Chonburi/Rayong had to be opened as it was in danger, and this will be causing flooding in my area for several more hours tonight on top of the rain. Channel 3 also said all this won't stop until Saturday! :banghead: Pete

Bangkok, the Venice of the East.
Face timed the in laws in Pathum Thani 2 hours ago and it is raining hard and flooding in parts.
Luckily, their property is above flood level but BKK may be hit hard this time.

From the look of the pic JamesWest posted, looks like Hua Hin will be getting there fair share of Harry Wetters as well.

Nothing dangerous here BB unless foolish enough to venture out when not urgent. We'll see what tomorrow brings but from what my wife has been told, our golf course/housing area is more or less an island now and can't get out anyway. Pete
