Then it's obviously one of your add ons or extensions that's causing the problem.
Programs like video downloaders are common culprits.

Firefox is generally slow with compatability issues to updated software, which is probably why it's still the safest browser, no stone unturned etc
Adobe are notoriously unstable in the compatability department.


Have you checked the crash reports to see if you can identify any persistent offenders?
Disabling specific add ons/extensions and testing??

There are also some add ons that may be worth trying.

I downloaded a sports streaming site recommended called VIP (something) which I have had to uninstall as it gave me something called OMIGA-PLUS which is very invasive. It has taken over as default search engine and my home page etc and I cannot remove it.

I did fin an uninstall program for it but I was unable to do it - any suggestions?

It has been resolved in an unlikely way. I ran Malwarebytes and got some 150 problems which were dealt with but still no joy. I then ran Avast and more problems and again resolved but still no joy. I then ran Baidu Antivirus and it came up with some PUP mentioning Omiga plus which I resoved and hey presto all clear.
I mention this because I have always considered Baidu a poor relation to Avast and Malwarebytes

I've solved it with adding 'FLASHBLOCK' and all seems well now. After ploughing through tons of stuff on Google I hit upon an article which confirmed what you said. Firefox are addressing the problem and will include patches in their next release of FF.

Firefox is often a problem with Flashplayer, which is why I always use Chrome for sports streamimg, as it automatically updates Flashplayer

Baidu software IS the malware - you want to be uninstalling that pronto.

100% agree with buksida...........get rid of Baidu, nasty piece of work.

I use Firefox although the crashes are tempting me to use Chrome more. Also use Spybot 1.62 (the old version which is still available on the website) and Malwarebytes which is excellent. My choice of AV is Avast.

I have a problem with my business emails. People can fill out an inquiry form on our website and until recently I always received the inquiries in my Outlook. Then one day people contacted me directly and asked why I did not reply to their inquiry. That is how I found out these emails sent through our website were no longer delivered.

I contacted our hosting company and they checked. The emails are delivered to web mail but from there NOT to my Outlook. Hosting company says all is well on their end as the mail is delivered to the server. Nothing they can do. Problem must be my Outlook they said. Note: Nothing has been changed to my Outlook (I am the only one who uses it) and I can find nothing out of the ordinary.

A Google search shows trillions of problems with Outlook and gives you reading material for thousands of years. Solution might be out there but impossible (for me) to locate.

I already tried the obvious like deleting the email addresses and setting them up again, change SMTP, disabling AVG email scanner etc. all to no avail. I really start believing it is not an Outlook problem. Could it be a problem with the server? Anyone any ideas?

Open up the webmail interface (usually http://www.domain.com/webmail) for your domain name and check if the form is sending the mail there (fill it in yourself to test it) - if it arrives then it is definitely an Outlook problem.

If the mail is not being delivered to your webmail inbox then you may need to get your webmaster to check the form is functioning correctly.

As another test try setting the account up in Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/

I ditched Outlook years ago and haven't looked back!

Do you have a junk mail folder set up? If so, check that to see if they've been put in there

Not in junk mail. I just checked webmail and all mails are there. All delivered to Outlook except for the ones created through the form on the website. Mystery remains.

Buksida: You might be right about Thunderbird being a better alternative but impossible for me to switch at the moment as I have created hundreds of dossier files in Outlook with correspondence sorted per hotel guest, agent, supplier etc.

CONSTANTLY HAVING TO RESET NETWORK ADAPTER

My Toshiba Satellite laptop (Windows 8.1) connects to TOT internet via a TP-LinkTD-W8961ND wireless modem. When it's behaving itself I can connect at about 8.5 Mbps which is fine...

Recently, I have been losing the internet connection nearly every evening, and fixing the problem by resetting the Network Adapter (which I believe is the Wi-Fi / internet interface) via the Network Sharing Centre screen.

- Is it possible to change some settings to fix this problem permanently?

- Is there any software available to do the same?

P.S. Ms Chazz does not experience the same problem with her tablet - so it appears that TOT are not guilty on this occasion?

I'm currently getting an AVAST threat detection message BUT only when I open the HHAD thread 'Tom Yum Kung. It started occurring after GLCQ's post regarding spam and chips etc

Any idea why?
