Re: Bonsai Tree Exhibition
Some of those things sell for 1 million $ up, and can be ancient. I doubt you'll find any like that here, only in Japan. It can be a fun hobby and I tried it, but you have to have the patience of a saint, and be willing to tend to care daily in the form of trimming, light direction, water etc. There is really more reading and learning to be done than tending.
Give it a try, but it's work and not just to be placed near a window if inside and water dumped on it once a week. Pete

Somebody gave one to mrs BB for her 50th birthday once. It was dead in a week. She normally has very green fingers.

Re: Bonsai Tree Exhibition
absolutely beautiful.....
Re: Bonsai Tree Exhibition with photos
We were in Market Village early this morning, and decided to have a look around.
The bonsai trees were really beautiful. Mrs BB took a real shine to one of them, and despite me saying, "No," she enquired how much? When they told her 250,000 Baht she walked away quickly
.
Outside it was more of a traditional garden centre selling all of the usual garden stuff, and plants. I was well impressed at some of the orchids, which were much larger blooms than usual, and not too expensive.
Well worth a wander around if you have a few minutes to spare.

I read that quickly as "Well worth a wander around if you have a few million to spare", but I guess that's just as appropriate?

Re: Bonsai Tree Exhibition with photos
Actually, the trees didn't appear to be on sale. Mrs BB asked one of the exhibitors how much he would sell that particular tree for.

Wonder why they wrote 'Don't touch' only in English language ...
Thanks for sharing anyway!

Actually, if you look at all of the photos, the Don't Touch is written mostly in Thai.
