So will Hua Hin participate with more rain - I hope so as the lakes are still low

Not directly from that specific event...it's a side issue. What's been happening the last few days here seems to have slowed down, but not finished totally yet per what I read. I think next week will see more, but perhaps not as intense. Pete

Here's the super typhoon as of 90 minutes ago from this post, headed towards Japan. I can see that perhaps the rotation and trail could disrupt things here in Thailand.....maybe? Pete

Hua Hin hit by runoffs

Runoffs from the Tanaosri mountain range have caused Pran Buri River to overflow in Hua Hin's Huai Sat Yai subdistrict, destroying several check dams and bridges and stranding hundreds of villagers.

It looks like everywhere is in a dry period until the weekend. At least the satellite shows that. Pete

Does "dry" mean showers rather than constant rain? It's been raining off and on in HH for most of the afternoon so far. In fact we have light rain at the moment.

I'd call it a heavy shower. There was no flashing or banging as it passed over me

In my non-professional opinion the monsoon for this year is over. No sign of it on satellite for days now. I think we may be in for occasional thunder storms into November, then that's it folks until April when some thunderboomers should start again. We're going to see a lot of drought stories in the news going forward I'm afraid. Pete

Not a monsoon, but a decent shower this morning, with more forecast throughout the day - make the most of it before the drought sets in.
