Extra deep fitted sheets
Extra deep fitted sheets
I could not find anything using the search ( probably did not guess the right words to use) so am asking where you can buy extra deep fitted sheets that would fit a mattress 13 inches (32 cm approx) or more deep.
I think Index do them as they sell that type of mattress. Have not seen them anywhere else which is not surprising as it was a problem in the UK with only John Lewis ( expensive) or going online.
Does anyone know of another local source that will not break the bank and has a variety of colours.

JD mentioned a new bedding shop at the end of Soi 41 the other day. Might be worth a try.

Re: Extra deep fitted sheets
When we first came here we shipped a thick mattress from the U.S. and had the same problem. We used flat sheets top and bottom until I went back to America a year later where I bought 4 sets of sheets to bring back.

Re: Extra deep fitted sheets
There's many places, probably in HH also, who make custom fabric covers for sofas, cushions etc. I would think if you supplied the material you want to use, and a bit extra for the deep side drop and elastic insertion, they could sew up something nice. Perhaps worth a try with one set to see what happens. Pete

Good idea about getting them made up. I have to go to the UK later next week and will get some there with a thought to getting some made up here if the ones I bring back do not meet the wife's requirements. With the high cost of them, making them here has got to be feasible.

Taken from Google:
"The width of a bolt is usually 45 or 60 inches, but widths may include 35–36”, 39”, 41”, 44–45”, 50”, 52–54", 58–60” and 66”, 72", 96", and 108".
This could be the problem here. You may not find a supply of the sheet type fabric you want in the width you need. In that case, you may have to live with a sewn seam down the middle of the sheet. I think that's better than a stray side with a seam....not sure. At least you'll have a this is "my side" and "your side".

Re: Extra deep fitted sheets
Why not use local fabric and labor to extend the sides of store bought sheets? Location of seams won't matter. Fabric quality would matter much less.
Re: Extra deep fitted sheets
found a set at big C in petchaburi but they only had three, so very limited choice, may be you could ask them to order some for you
Re: Extra deep fitted sheets
It looks like the sacrifice you have to make when going for a comfortable deep mattress is lack of choice of fitted sheets if that is your preference. I have found a website in the UK which offers cheaper fitted sheets and will get some ordered as I will be there for a couple of weeks. Thanks for the useful responses everyone. I foresee getting some made here if my beloved is not happy with the quality of those I get from the website. I could use the ones I have as a as sample and if a join is required then would be tempted to go for a two colour his and hers zone although I have my doubts how successful this would be.

Re: Extra deep fitted sheets
I went today to the new place JD mentioned at the end of Soi 41 called Mattress City as I was wanting a king sized covered summer duvet which I found and also bought a sheet and pillow cases at a total cost of 2,199 reduced from 5,000 and it all appears good quality. More important is that the sheet has a depth of 14 inches.

Thanks Martin, will have to visit there. Am in the UK at the moment and due back in a couple of weeks. I have bought some sheets here online which were very cheap but have to be careful of baggage weight. Once back I will take the wife there as hers will be the final decision.

FWIW, the bedding vendor in Market Village on the 2nd floor, next to the escalator in front of Home Pro, has a small sign saying they do custom work.

When you say "end of Soi 41", which end do you mean, it has two you know.Martin Swift wrote:I went today to the new place JD mentioned at the end of Soi 41 called Mattress City as I was wanting a king sized covered summer duvet which I found and also bought a sheet and pillow cases at a total cost of 2,199 reduced from 5,000 and it all appears good quality.
