Aren't normal car headlamp bulbs 50/55W (or 55/65W), so that's less than 10A together.
HID bulbs, which are becoming more common, are even less at something like 40W.
You used to be able to buy 100W headlamp bulbs in the UK but they were for off-road use only.
Car maintanence
Re: Car maintanence
Thanks for the answers, it seems that its not unusual for batteries to last 2-3 years which hopefully means I'm not getting fleeced. I have looked on other forums/sites and the general consensus is the same.
I should explain more regarding changing tyres after 2 years, driving on a good section of road the road noise was extremely loud which prompted me to get the car checked out (worried it might have been a wheel bearing), went to 2 places and both blamed the sidewall of the tyres (Bridgestone). After a new set the noise was gone.

I seem to go through a battery every 2 years or less in Thailand. It has to be build quality, as in Australia they seem to last 5 years. For a good exide sealed battery. Maybe I should bring over some battery conditioner next time I am over and try that

I have a 4.1/2 year old Honda PCX and a 32 month old Pajero Sport, both on original batteries and never had an issue with either.
