I'm not sure why we've switched to Saturday kick offs, but the change seemed to have been reflected in a smaller crowd today. Mind you, at 50 Baht admission, it has to be amongst the best valued entertainment in the area. As well as a professional football match we were fed pork with sticky rice and were entered into the half time lottery. The temperature on the way to the match was a sticky 35C.

2nd place against 4th place - a good game should be in store.

No brick outhouse in defence today. I guess Lamptey was serving his suspension for getting sent off a couple of weeks ago (or maybe he was just injured).

Hua Hin usually play a slow first half, and then come out all guns blazing in the 2nd half. How encouraging it was to see them come out of the blocks like Hussein Bolt today. Wongsawad snatch an early goal, and Anucha grabbed another brace before half time. They were easily the best team, and it could easily have been 6 by half time. I was actually pondering the predicament the score board man would have when the score reached double figures.

Singburi made 2 substitutions at the start of the 2nd half, and it was a completely different game. I don't know if it was the new Singburi blood, or Hua Hin dropping down a couple of gears at 3 - 0 ahead. Despite this, Singburi still didn't look like scoring. When the goal came, it was an excellent free kick, which gave Shota no chance.

A well deserved victory, and Vana Nava Hua Hin City are 2 points clear at the top of the league.

The African on the left wing was class. It was strange to see the Hua Hin keeper start time wasting in the first half when the score was 3-0, you'd think they would have wanted more goals but I guess it was a hot day and the game was already won.

Hmmmm.... The Hua Hin Keeper - still not sure about him. At least he caught a few this time. Previous game he punched everything. I still think he might be better suited to Scottish football :D :run:

I can also say I have taken my now three year old daughter to watch Hua Hin City although the wife didn't think it was the best idea having to do most of the child care and running beer Errands on a frequent basses for me.

I guess it's the same jamesg who posted above (we spoke briefly after the match). He didn't mention the 50 Baht also included a free meal of pork and sticky rice as well. Also the fact they stuffed the fourth place team, even though they had some key players missing.

I forgot to mention the free food, I edited that in. It won't get posted on the main page of the website until the telegraph office opens later anyway.

It's funny, we got some pics of me, my son and my Dad but unfortunately my sons sitting on my lap and I'm holding him with a can of Leo clasped between my hands that he's trying to eat. At the time it seemed funny but I don't think I want to put a pic on the internet that makes it look like I'm feeding beer to my four month old.
