Police Directions

Post by Big Boy »

I had the most hilarious thing happen to me this morning as I drove to Makro.

I was stopped by a police officer as they let a procession out of the Palace gates - nothing unusual about this.

When the road ahead was was clear, the police officer signaled all of the waiting traffic to move off. I stayed put because he was stood directly in front of me, and my only way forward would have been over him. My lack of movement made him quite irate - his arms started flapping, and then he got his whistle out, and started whistling at me - I still had no way forward.

Eventually, the penny dropped. Imagine his embarrassment when he realised why I hadn't moved (I've no idea where his head was). He signaled his apologies (wai), and stepped back to central reservation. Mrs BB and I were laughing quite loudly all of the way to Makro  .

Have you noticed police on motorcycle/scooter have helmets that are only half the size of regular helmets. The reason appears obvious. Perhaps they even use this particular helmet as the qualifier for employment in the police force. If it fits, you got a job.
