Windows 7 & Web page Contact ( e-mail)
I have recently changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 and one problem I have is that when I go to a web page and I want to use the Contact tab, the email page comes up but there is no provision (Tab) to SEND the email ( with XP it was automatic ). I believe I need to instal something to get this working?
I have tried to use Windows Live Essential Programs and attempted to install just the MAIL program but have finished up with the whole list of 7(?) and Windows is now automatically installing updates ( over 200 when I tried to close down last night.
So - how can I set up the email page? Should I uninstall all the Live Essential Programs? How can I stop Windows UP-Dates installing?
Thank you all

I've seen this before. I don't think you've registered an e-mail account to you mail service. Add an account, and it will be fine.

What is your e-mail client? I only know about MS Outlook.

I have a number of email addresses using Yahoo etc but my main address is through AOL, and on line I use Firefox

Re: Windows 7 & Web page Contact ( e-mail)
When you access your e-mail, is it through an e-mail client such as Outlook or Thunderbird? This is how I registered my e-mail account and nominated my default.
If you access e-mail directly from the web, you will have to wait for somebody 'that knows' to come along.

Firefox 25
I keep being asked to download the Firefox 25 update - any reason why I should not because my computer is running very well in every way?

Re: The Digital Surgery
Wont make a difference, its just a security update. Browsers should usually be updated when prompted, keeps the latest batch of nasties out.

Re: The Digital Surgery
I'm a regular user (twice a week) of Spybot and Malwarebytes. Both dig out nasties along with my resident Avast.
Dumbo question.............Are there settings that avoid them deleting my user names and passwords and if so where are the settings located please?

Neither of them will mess with your passwords, the setting for that is in Firefox under options > security.

Re: The Digital Surgery
I started to go ahead to be told that some of my add-on's would no longer be suitable and would be disabled so I decided to forget it ! At the present time I am able to stream All Sky Sports Channels and very many more like BT and Satanta, I do not know how this arose because sometime ago it was all stopped, blocked or whatever, but for the last 5 weeks all is good and with the Ashes coming up I am being careful. I have copied and pasted the site to numerous friends but they are still blocked, which I cannot understand so it must be something in my system and I am not going to clean.buksida wrote:Wont make a difference, its just a security update. Sorry to have trundled on but that is the story!!

Re: The Digital Surgery
Major problems with pop-up windows - not small adds or new tabs. I have run various "cleaners" etc. (spybot and the like) but to no effect. I also have pop-up blockers installed (Adblock etc.) and am using Avast anti-virus which has always proved to be good. This really is becoming a complete pain in the @rse - has anyone come across this or anything similar?
The pop-up windows the majority of the time are either some "celeb" video, or an online survey associated to the site you are visiting. The web address varies, but always preceded by http://www.redirsvc.com/.
An Internet search suggested this was something to do with McAfee, but I've checked through files and found nothing.
Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciate - TIA

Re: The Digital Surgery
Your browser Pharvey should have a "block pop-up's" option. Firefox does for sure. Pete

Re: The Digital Surgery
I've had a pop-up problem since the recent server move. I have the 'block pop-up' option enabled for everything except HH Forum. Every pop-up up has the url search.php?search_id=newposts .

Re: The Digital Surgery
Yes, all enabled Pete. Plus I have others such as "Adblock Plus" and "Better Pop up Blocker" - all have worked fine for months. Just a couple of weeks ago I started to have problems, as as mentioned ALWAYS http://www.redirsvc.com ...........etc.prcscct wrote:Your browser Pharvey should have a "block pop-up's" option.
