Liverpool certainly seem to have bought wisely in Mignolet,Coutinho,Aspas and Sturridge with the man Suarez waiting to return.
United for the Europa League.....dont go making comments like that ! :blues:
United never really got going. With the midfield being so mediocre I dont know why Moyes doesnt play Kagawa. He would be ideal playing just behind the strikers in the position where he was so effective for Borussia Dortmund.
And starting with Young :( my heart sank when I saw he was playing. He was responsible for the goal giving away a needless corner trying to dribble out of trouble.
At least the bar/restaurant where I watched the match had some very pretty waitresses to help take my mind off the football ! :rasta:

Before the start I thought it would be Chelski and Citeh slugging it out but Liverpool have surprised me,up to now.
With the Spuds and Arsenal also in the mix,United could be looking at 6th ! (joking.....I hope).

Cant see Di Canio lasting too long at Sunderland,tbh.....he's bought a lot of players but they all seem to be rubbish !

Today is the final day of the Transfer Deadline so,hopefully,we could be in for an interesting day......are you listening,Mr.Moyes ? :guns:

Anyway, it was a cracking game, though obviously a disappointing result. I'm not too concerned, since most of our team probably said hello for the first time in the dressing room. I think there were a few confused new Spurs players of various nationalities who had just stepped off the plane and had no idea what a North London derby was all about and couldn't understand why everyone was so frantic.........
:agree: entirely

Managed to stream the second half in BKK last night and it's clear to me that the new Spurs recruits need a day or two together to sort themselves out.

We're just warming up and now the distraction of the Bale saga is over, maybe we can get on with it.

Quite a change seeing Liverpoon on top - it won't last.

As for both of the the Mancs - quite disastrous methinks.

An interesting season ahead.

Will Liverpool and Spurs implode as usual? Will Chelski be yet another 'flash in the pan' opener?

Man U will struggle under the new management and suffer if they rely too much on the old faithfuls (Giggs etc). Think they may even finish mid table

My money is on Man C for the title with Spurs giving them a hard chase. The rest of the top 6 is a lottery IMO

Match result Arsenal 1 vs Tottenham 0

I just love the gap.

Think you find that they spent sweet FA - 100K minus 86K minus player sales!

Congratulations on the result though :(

The balance sheet for Spud sales may well have improved with Bales transfer (and good luck to him at Real), but the monthly wage packet has gone up.

It will be interesting to see which of Spurs or Liverpool, being the busiest in the transfer market, have invested more wisely come seasons end.

But with respect, the quality of Ozil eclipses anything the Spuds have paid for!

I'll wait until seasons end before commenting further on Spud investments! :thumb:

Fellaini 27.4m :? ....United only bid 28m for Fellaini AND Baines previously,so they must have a very low valuation of Baines.
And whats going on at Chelsea ?......Lukaku and Moses out on seasons long loans.....are they building the team around Torres ?
I feel sorry for Mata....he's not wanted at Stamford Bridge and would have been a better signing than Fellaini but I know "Special 1" would have wanted a deal involving Rooney. :|

Don't you just luv it......................

Thrifty Arsenal fans have avoided splashing out on a personalised Mesut Ozil shirt by simply adapting an old Arsenal O2-sponsored kit. :lach: :lach:

Methinks Whinger gave a special instruction to the Gooners - he must be choking on spending 42.4m

Oh well - the drama is all over - so as I said in a previous post - let's get on with the footy.

Fellani was available under his contract for £22.5 million, but that ran out after 31st July -Sooooooooooo he cost another £5million, and bad business by Moyes.

& the £60 million spent last season?? :?

Spending £170M & raking in less than £100M = spent quite a few quid, & that's not including wages. Or are the new players paying subs??

I'm disappointed Lukaku has been shipped out on loan again, I was looking forward to seeing him being given a good chance.

I hope I'm proved wrong, but we lacked a real cutting edge last season with just Torres and Ba and all we now have is the 32 year old Eto'o to challenge them, although Schurrie can also play as a forward.

Liverpool have taken Moses but I doubt he'll get a regular start there. I'm not sorry to see him go and can't really understand why he's in such demand or why we ever bought him in the 1st place?

Mata was never going anywhere and will again be a major player for Chelsea this season.

United and Arsenal both screwed up in the window, Arsenal by telling everyone how much they have to spend and Utd, well, in everything really! I can see Ozil being as influential as Fabregas, but I can only see Fellaini adding to Utd in the Premiership. I'll probably be proved wrong.

Liverpool have added real depth to their squad.
