CTH - Premier League broadcaster

Post by mo1 »

for those of us who love our football - I have just spoken to CTH hotline and they informed me that they are not taking on any new subscribers until the end of June, it seems there will be a basic subscription + premium
for the football package, I for one will be happy to give TrueVision the boot for at least 3 years and hopefully for ever!!!

Does anyone know which areas CTV is available ? i gather they have the english football for next year i live up near the borfai area

do they have the other competitions as well ( champions league , europa league, FA cup , league cup )

i have wasted a lot of money over the last year or so on different set top boxes ( dream box master box sky box etc ) with astro and the like constantly going down due to server issues , i dont have any tv what so ever at the moment as the last satellite tv guy took 6 month subscription off me and then decided to delete his phone number !

it would be nice to have something a bit more reliable ( apart from true visions ) at less cost

From what I can gather you will need a box when you incorporate the EPL package.....free to current Cable subscribers but 1800 baht for those that are not.......package prices from 599-899 baht per month.
Champions League was on Cable last season and Thai TV Channel 7 have exclusive rights to the FA Cup till 2017,so that should be shown.

it sounds like CTH will have lots of channels ( from what i have read about 140 ) and will be showing all the premier league games plus tennis, golf etc

plus movies , entertainment etc

the top package is 899 per month

http://www.cth.co.th/

I am not sure about how you get it installed though :? i have a sky box already ( currently not being used ) and 2 dishes in my garden already , can i use this or do i have to buy yet another set top box !

is it easier to go through the local cable company ? ( the name escapes me :? )

if someone could point me in the right direction as the best way to go...

Thanks for the website link fabman,,,,,but correct me if I have missed something but the CTH website is only in Thai, didnt see a language or flag icon...

Want to know if they allow a month only subscription....I used to pay for one month at a time with True through Big Kiang. We are only in Thailand about every 4 months and want to pay for the month we are there. But if they are doing the 3 year discount package at 599 baht might work out better anyway. Good to have an alternative to Truevisions. GN..

The local cable company is CTH. CTH is cable only so your dishes are redundant. They have an office off Petchkasem Road (not easy to find I'm told). They have a lady there that speaks good English and she told me the new channels needed a new decoder box, coming next month.

Easier said than done! How do you translate - I can't find a translate button on the site.
The local Hua Hin CTH is adamant it can only offer cable services - still it passes my front door, so no drama.

Couple of things:

Is the office that 'easyas' mentions off the Petchkasem Road the one opposite the baguette shop with the red railings?

With True Visions you can also use a PVR to record and stop live TV does anyone know if CTH has this facility? In fact I don't think I have seen a DVD recorder in Thailand has anyone got any info on this?

I have been looking at other options to watch EPL, a friend has recommended https://www.thaiexpat.tv/ but I have had an on-line chat with them and at the moment they don't have EPL, they say maybe in a couple of weeks time they will.

Lastly, I can't believe that True Vision will survive without having access to the EPL, is there any inside info on them still showing football?
If you give 'em a quick short, sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it?

Yes CTH is opposite Baguette and they tell me the EPL with Satellite will be available early (?) next month
