To deny Pluto the status of a planet is simply that to keep it as a planet would allow 50 or so other "planets" that sit just beyond the Kuiper belt the same attention. Astronomers keep bringing up the fact that this would be far too complex for the text books. Well maybe the text books are an inadequate media and it is time we embraced the fact that we live in an ever-expanding and diversifying Universe. It may not be easy to simplify to our children, but its is fact nontheless.
For astrologers nothing will change. We already accept Ceres, Xena, Sedna and others into charts and will continue to use the definitions of Pluto as they stand. It does however say more when the "world" turns away from Pluto and try to deny it. Like turning away from all torture, death, injustice and suffering in the world because we cannot quantify it and substantiate it into a neat little manifesto.
