I haven't recorded them, but it must be possible (I guess) as it's only a data feed. Using the software, you have 3 options i.e.:

- Live, which means staying up until 2:30 am to watch Coronation Street (the example I will use for demonstration purposes)

- -5 (-6 during BST) which means you can watch it at 7:30am.

- -17 (-18 during BST) which means you can watch it at 7:30pm.

Generally, we use the -17 service, which means most things we watch one day late. However, if we're watching something like football, we stay up until silly o'clock, and watch it live.

As I keep saying, it's a simple download for the free trial with no obligation - give it a try.

So, what festive deal do existing subscribers get? This sounds like the type of offer that made me dump Sky back in the UK.

I had a chat with one of the Expat TV guys, Wez, at the Forum's 10th Birthday Party. He actually showed some of the developments that should be introduced very soon. If it comes to being, it will be worth waiting for. Hopefully Wez will come on here later, and tell you more.

Dear Members,

The Thai Expat TV team has been hard at work to bring you a brand new software player of our own.

Our new player will resolve all the previous issues you may have had, offers you much better functionality and a full 7 days of channel history to watch your favorite shows ON-Demand.

You can sign up for a free 2 day trial here: https://www.thaiexpat.tv/free_trial.php

Once the player is opened, you can choose to watch the channels ‘Live’ from the channel icons on the right hand side of the home page or click on the ‘TV Guide’ at the bottom left of the screen. Once in the guide you have the option of selecting a programme by genre or selecting a channel by its icon and selecting a date from the calendar at the top. All of the programmes highlighted are available to watch on demand.

We hope that this player increases your enjoyment of using our service.

If you have ANY issue installing or using this new player, please email us straight away: tvsupport@thaiexpat.tv

Likewise, if you have any feedback either positive or negative, we would like to hear from you: feedback@thaiexpat.tv

We sincerely hope you enjoy using our new player!

Kind Regards,
Thai Expat TV team

Thanks thaiexpattv - I've downloaded it, and it looks just the way Wez described it at the Fishing Lodge last month. I won't use it in anger until tomorrow, but I am very pleased with what I see so far. The buffering should eliminate my 'lost packet' problem, which will be a megga improvement.

2 questions:

- What happens when my free trial ends?

- When is the new style box that Wez talked about going to be available please?

Hi Bigboy,

You can just login to the player using your existing subscription you pay for. If you need to be reminded of the password just email support and we will send it to you.

The new set top box is still under development and we will be informing customers when this will be available.

Thanks,
Wes

Well, I've now used the new player in anger, and it is 200% better. I always liked the service (most of my problems were a technical 3BB fault), and this gives me so many new options. I can watch what I want, when I like. I am no longer stuck to 3 time slots. Also, the buffering, even with the 3BB problem, ensures smooth wiewing. I would imagine I could even drop below the 3Mb for short periods.

Guys, you've just made a good product into an excellent product - well done

 Wow!!! It's even better than I thought. I've just been able to put last night's Football League Show on, and go straight to the Green Army's goals without having to watch the rest of the irrellevant stuff. :D

BB, I'm out of touch with what's on UK tv these days. What live sports do you get to watch? (Football, rugby and cricket is all I care about really.) I'll be moving house in the next few months, and once that's done I'll probably sign up with Thai Expat.
This is the way
