Enjoyed it for what it was, yes, and will watch season 3.
Was getting a bit tired of the constantly flickering eyes and the almost cracking voice of the CIA lady bordering on hysteria all the time, however central that was to her character.
It was reminiscent in many ways of 24, and that rather outgrew itself, so I hope they don't over-egg this pudding.

Will go and look for Sleeper Cell now.

Incidentally, there's a UK series running now that I'm quite enjoying. At least I think I am. It's a bit off the wall and quite violent (some elements of Reservoir Dogs), but I've seen the first couple of episodes and I'll let it play itself out. Some good young actors I haven't seen before. "UTOPIA".

We have now seen 3 episodes of Utopia and like you we think we are enjoying it - it is certainly strange at times. A couple of times we have nearly given up and then something happens and we decide to give the next episode a go. Episode 4 tonight!

I can definitely understand why you were tempted to give up on it - I watched the first episode last night and found it very strange and not really to my liking. Based on your and DM's comments I might give episode 2 a view before deciding whether to ditch it - although my Thai wife though found it pretty hard going trying to follow the plot, plus she isn't too keen on mindless violence or the frequent use of the F word!!

I read and watch a lot of SF/fantasy - as well as crime/mystery - and there are elements of that in this that appeal to me, but this is certainly not for everyone.
Buksida, I thought you might find it worth a look, based on some of your previous posts.

I can fully understand your wife struggling with Utopia - half the time I have not got a clue what is going on. In some ways it reminds me of the series Lost; half of you understands on some level but the other half has not got an idea at all!

I've seen a few episodes of Utopia, very odd stylistic series, mostly filmed in (but not based in) Liverpool Btw.

An older series that I am going through now and IMO one of the best I've ever seen is Breaking Bad - it just keeps getting better.

And by the cock of Jupiter, Spartacus is back for a third season re-named from "Blood and Sand" to "War of the Damned".

For those that haven't seen it it is about a detective in the hills country and the interesting assortment of people make it worthwhile watch for me!

Based on a character from a Elmore Leonard book and Leonard has a part in the production.

It's amazing to think how we take this sort of thing for granted now, when 10 years ago, we just had to wait to see it on tv or buy the video.

WALKING DEAD is back after its mid third season hiatus, and already is hotting up. Well worth watching IMHO after a triumphal comeback after the terrible second season. Rick the sheriff is loosing his marbles, his bratty kid is born again triple hard, and the Governor is on a warpath. Splat tastic

SPARTACUS: WAR OF THE DAMNED marks the "third" (or 4th chronological) season of the epic swords, sandal and sex series and is back full force in forcibly truncated form, which IMHO is better as it cuts down on the side plot nonsense and just gets on with the main plot arc. We all know how this, the last series, will end. Maybe they will do what the film did and have Sparty hiding amongst his fanboy army, or maybe they will do it properly and have him die in the last battle at the River Silarus. Hes dead meat either way.....but boy it looks like it will be a glorious journey. Gore gious

and Id recc you drop and watch the wonderfully creepy gothic horror thriller series AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM. Rather than the standard haunted house setting of the pretty boring first series, the second (set in your classic gothic asylum complete with serial killers old and new, aliens, demonic nuns and a mad Nazi scientist or two) is utterly gripping and keeps you guessing all the way to the last scene of the last episode. Great watching. Grrrr Ripping
