$ Flights To Destinations Outside Thailand

Post by pinksquid »

Hello,

Could anyone be so kind as to give some estimates on how much flights cost from Bangkok to locations outside Thailand (specifically Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, India, and/or anywhere in Europe)?

I know flight costs vary according to where you go and when so a rough ballpark is fine. I am curious to see the flight cost difference of buying tickets within Thailand (I know ticket prices from outside of it).

I travel quite a bit and would like to make at least two trips outside Thailand per year.

Thank you in advance! :thumb:
As of mid August I am on vacation via traveling around the globe and I am not returning until the end of November (I have no Internet access until I return). Have fun!

Round the World

Post by Thaiclan »

I recently flew business class to Germany and it cost 156,000 (return).
However I had a huge trip to do shortly after this so looked into purchasing a "round the world" ticket.
I was really suprised at how cheap flying from Bkk made it. If I started in Singapore it would have cost 2 thirds more.
I actually paid 211,000baht for business class - Bkk-Frnakkfurt-London-Chicago-San Fransisco-Tokyo-Singapore-Bangkok
I used a travel agent based in Pattaya. PM me if you want the details.
Mainly the flights are with Thai, but there is a Lufthansa flight in there too.

Yipes, that is a bit pricey... it is comparitive to business class in the US for the first (if not a bit more) but the second seems more a deal. I never fly business class (unless it is an upgrade).

Thank you very much for the information though, it gives me somehting to think about and compare with!! :thumb:

Return to Heathrow with Emirates, 34,500.
That'll do me.
Unfortunately, Thai International were quoting 47,100 for the same thing.

Thank you very much for the information, it would seem that they are about the same as what I get in Europe and the US, I was hoping for a bit cheaper. Ah well.

My experience when buying tickets for relatives has been flying from Bangkok is a touch dearer than flying from the UK. I've always assumed that market forces are to blame ie the majority of Thai traffic from the UK is holiday trade (return trips). There is not so much of a call for tickets to go to the UK on holiday.

If you go to Yahoo Asia’s main site, which is Singapore based, and go to Travel you can search for flights priced in Baht out of Thailand; you can do the same thing on Yahoo Thailand if you can read Thai! I am not saying that they are the best deals around, but it is good for getting a rough idea of prices from Thailand.

..depends which time of the year you travel... in August most flights to European destinations are completely full and the cheapest ones (unless booked months in advance) are 700-1300Euro. However, in Sept-Nov you can find flights to Amsterdam, Paris, UK and Scandinavia as of 4-500Euro. Dec-Jan is most expensive, but if booked well in advance, or last minute w flexible dates, you can still find bargains.
