I rode past the bottom end of Selakam yesterday and noticed the new bar-to-be (Up 2 U)..is taking shape.. it's almost an exact copy of 'seven-second Frank's' old bar Lucky Lukes. (He aquired this title due to the fact he only seems to let a song play for this long before changing it for another).
IF this is the case, then I really feel sorry for everyone down that end of Selekam..you'll know his bar is 'open' when you hear that f***in air-raid siren every half hour..
Maybe someone up soi 80 to keep him and his like away from 80. As soi 80 has many MIB residences (a major reason the soi's bars will never become 'Bintaban-ed') maybe they have all clubbed together to give him 'tea money' to stay away from 80.
I was up 80 for lunch one day and he was creating havoc in the soi. Shouting on his mobile in the middle of the road and actually managed to crash his motorbike into another driven by an equally drunk farang after demolishing a couple of pot plants outside a bar. Do these guys have vodka on their cornflakes in the morning? cos they seem to be pissed at mid-day.

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
He bought L.L's for 2.7..& sold it for 1.6..quick sale due to landlady ending contract due to endless late monthly rent-payments I heard..??
Amazing how a man of his calibre & mentality does so well in this town business-wise..maybe we all need to follow suit..?? T.I.T.
On the subject of new bars, if you want a bar to watch the football or rugby etc, then Buckleys is the place.
The music is switched off whilst the games are on so you can hear the commentary.
Very helpful staff as well, (5 x 300)
That's it MM..he's making this bar like his old one..which was a busy place..full of tourists willing to listen to 15-30 second bursts of music, coupled with an ear-splitting air-raid siren every half hour..(???) Lucky Lukes was always busy in high season, but alot of this was due to it's location or maybe Dutch folk wanting to see him do DJing..??
If this guy can still get punters in down Soi Selekam remains to be seen..? (He may even shift alot of tourist drinking trade to that section of town..??)
One cannot help but notice that 'sweet old Tina Bar' from the Btm of Binta, whose previous trade may have been families all sat around tables chatting etc..now they have moved to LL's venue are now slowly adopting the same format as Frank..music's getting louder & louder,(diners nearby again have boom-boom music to contend with).. TV screen showing live footage of singers/bands, So maybe this is the new/profitable format for future bars in HH..?? (& keeps MIB pockets bulging)
Am I right in thinking ,there was a bar with the same name opened a few years ago.I don t think it lasted long due to failure of realationship?May be it is the same guy.
