Hua Hin virgins

Post by Brooky »

Hi everybody! in my best Dr Nick impersonation!

Me and the Mrs are coming to Hua Hin for 8 days as part of our 2 week Thai package, never been to Thailand before so are looking forward to the experience, we're both mature in age being the wrong side of 50 but the right side of 60-why don't I just say wrinkly?

We have been given plenty of advice such as visit Pat Pong in Bangkok as it's renowned for it's cultural atmosphere and first class table tennis exhibitions as in "go see the ping pong ball displays".

Anyway, can you recommend places to visit/things to do?

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Plenty of entries here. Just make a search! Warning: You will not find anything like PatPong or Pattaya in Hua Hin. This is a family friendly resort (except for a small area behind the Hilton Hotel)!
Have a nice vacation.

Suggest you change your holiday plans and go some place else cos you are going to waste your money in Hua Hin looking for the things you like.

I dunno, sounds like Brooky would make fun anywhere. There isn't any scuba/snorkelling in Hua Hin, but plenty of other things to do. I'm not there, but plenty of national parks, temples and even a vinyard to see. It might help if you could add more to the things you do like doing to get the best advice.

Seems like Hua Hin is not the place for you. Go to Pattaya. Have a nice trip!

Even the area near the Hilton is very well behaved. You often see middle age western women sitting there having a drink--you certainly do not see that in Nana, Cowboy or Walking street. It is fun and entertaining in a very HH sort of a way.

That's the impression I got as well.

Brooky, you won't find anything like Patpong in Hua-Hin, but you can still have a damn good time, and the ladies at the bars can be really good fun. If you really must see table tennis tournaments, then Bangkok is just a short drive away, but be warned, Patpong and etc is nothing like it was a few year back. :(

Have a good stay.

Patpong is so 90s, I don't know any BKK resident who goes there regularly.

What sort of a question is that? How many BKK residents do I know. I have never made a habit of counting how many people I know but after 7 years it must be over 1000.

Forgive me di"virgin" from the topic, but that's an astonishing claim! Maybe you thought the question was "how many Bkk residents have you met?"

Or are you including your cleaning lady and the local motorcy taxi man?

Or maybe I'm just not that gregarious any more...
