Want to buy lighter motorbike, around 60cc

Post by RoyVer »

Hi there,

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe most motorbikes in Thailand are 125cc. However, at LA bikes they sell motorbikes that are a little bit smaller than average but still quite similar om terms of design (vespa style) and I believe the engine size is 60cc or so.

If you have one of those for sale or know someone who does, please contact me. A new one is 19500 at LA Bikes, so I figure the price for a second hand one should be around 10000 or so, no?

Kind regards

I'd be careful if you're planning on using one of those on the main roads. I just don't think they're fast enough/have quick enough acceleration to ride down pekestcham safely.

I agree. They would normally be 50cc and limited to a speed of 30 or 45 km/h. Acceleration and speed far to slow to run on main roads in Thailand and consequently a nuisance and a danger to yourself and to the faster and smoother moving traffic.

I wont drive a bike under 125cc. You need some juice to pass people, to move out of a dicey situation quickly, to go more than a few km around town, to carry a passenger, to be able to cruise rather than running the sewing machine at max rpm. IMO 50cc is useless.
