Having looked into it mine has got over 50 languages including Zulu but then I looked at a £100 Huawei and it's only got 6 European languages.

I'm pretty sure you can download language packs though.

Just decide what model you want, find out if it's got Thai, if not buy in Thailand. Price differences are minimal, especially if you spend anytime in Bangkok and go to MBK.

I was thinking something like HTC Desire an oldish model or similar or what's the prices in Thailand for basic smartphone's as I know they get lost or broken within a year.

I bought a more basic HTC phone here on the continent and it doesn't have Thai, just the major European languages. I think basic smartphones of this type start at about 4-5000 bt in shops in Hua Hin.
As to the T9 keyboard thing, now I know what it's called, I've discovered that it already has one in the keyboard settings and it's a great improvement as with so few keys they're obviously so much larger and you can hit them every time. For anyone who struggles to use touch screen keyboards and is used to older phones, it's well worth a try.

You guys who are really into your smart phones probably already know about this one, but I've been introduced to a great little app today that allows free video calling, phone calls and texts - Tango. I've been video calling England (and Wales) today, and it's brilliant.

Unfortunately China Mobile are not allowing the download - will try and do so whilst in Thailand.... sounds excellent.

Galaxy S4: is Samsung’s new phone due in February?

Samsung has revealed the dates for its annual Forum and promised "major announcements", sparking speculation that it could launch the Samsung Galaxy S4 phone in February in Monaco.

Although the current model, the Samsung Galaxy S3, launched only in late May this year, rumours of a successor have been circulating for months already. Samsung was previously forced to deny that it would debut the S4 at CES in Las Vegas in January.

The Samsung Forum event, taking place in Monaco from 4-6 February, replaces last year’s European Forum with a global event where sources say “major announcements” are expected.

Specifications for the S4 have yet to be revealed, although a Samsung executive confirmed the name. While Samsung has shown flexible displays, the ‘bendy-phone’ technology is not yet thought to be ready for mass production. An HD display and a 13MP camera is widely expected, as are wireless charging and mobile payment options.

"Flexible Displays"..... Bl**dy 'ell  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20526577

Still, I shall be sticking with my SII for quite some time yet!!

When I suggested Tango a few weeks back, you all but rubbished the suggestion and said that you would stick to Skype. What's changed? :?

BB I use Tango but most of my friends and family are on SKYPE

HeyTell is different. It's a walkie talkie. Anywhere you are both on line you can have an instant chat. Many UK offices will not allow Skype to be used. HeyTell is similar to a beeper. So when I want to Skype my daughters I do a quick HeyTell to ask if they are going to be online today and at what time

Very little I doubt but it's about users. I've only got three Tango users. You, Buffalo Bill and a friend in Khon Kaen whereas HeyTell I've many but primarily UK users.

I also use WhatsApp too. Spoilt for choice these days aren't we?
