[ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
It's reliant on your internet connections. My internet connection gets ****ed on the weekend. I can usually stream video over my VPN with no problems during the week. Weekends are hit and miss. This weekend I could watch the first half of the race with re-buffering every 2-3 minutes. By the mid-point it was totally unwatchable due to the breakups.
Expat TV, being a product supposedly designed for Thailand should include high capacity buffering in their software. But as it appears to be an off-the-shelf product, I doubt they have that option.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
I am well aware that it is reliant upon a minimum of 3mbps. I am checking my Internet speed via my phone all of the time I'm getting crap reception. OK, last night it reduced to 4.5mbps, but that is still 50% more than required. This is why I am asking if the server is becoming overloaded.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
Hi Guys,
We have just been alerted to the existence of this post on this forum. Apologies for not getting involved before now, but visiting forums to check if subscribers are having issues with our service is not something we do. If our subscribers have an issue with the service, it's far more practical to open a support ticket directly with our customer service team. We are then instantly informed by email and engage into the matter with an immediate response to the subscriber.
Over this weekend we had "0" support tickets raised or phone calls pertaining to loss of service. If we are experiencing issues within our system, we will send out an email alert to all subscribers, informing them to this breakdown in service and how long we expect to be out of action for. This is something that has not happened for at least 10 weeks now and we do not foresee any complications ahead as we are now fully up to speed with our operation, and we have enough bandwidth to cope with several thousand simultaneous users at any given time.
The issues you are raising in this forum must be monitored in real-time in order to successfully identify the root cause of these problems and provide you with a solution. As soon as you experience an issue with our service, we recommend you reboot your systems (modem, set top box / computer). If you are still experiencing the problem after this, please login to your account on our website and open a support ticket. Please include details of the issues you are having and provide us with your IP address (simply Google "what is my IP"). We will respond to your ticket very quickly & provide you with regular updates until you are back online with our service. This is without a doubt the most pro-active way to resolve any issues you are having with our service.
You can contact us anytime day or night – tvsupport@thaiexpat.tv or 090-910-2955
Best regards,
Thai Expat TV

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
The problem in my house is not speed; the speed's pretty quick. The problem is problem is intermittent drop-outs in service, I will get high speeds for downloads for a few minutes then there will be a sudden pause. Download speeds will slow down, often grind to a halt for a few seconds, then the speed will ramp back up. On busy weekends the drop off can happen every minute or less.Big Boy wrote:I am well aware that it is reliant upon a minimum of 3mbps. Next time you're experiencing problems with TETV, try downloading a large file and see if you can observe similar happenings. Perhaps it's just a problem with my connection but I have a feeling it's not. If this characteristic is typical of connections in Thailand, then TETV should be providing software that can cope with this; by incorporating large buffers.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
Hi Pleng,
We have noticed some of these issues you are experiencing with some of the Thai internet providers and most of these issues can be solved by simply contacting your ISP.
We have a piece of software that can be downloaded to check your internet connection, this software checks the amount of packets that are lost between your home connection and our server here in Bangkok. Once you have the report from our software this will identify the node that has issues and this can then be provided to your ISP, then they will address the issue with your connection.
One guy from HuaHin contacted us with issues last week, he had a 73% packet loss between his home connection and our server in Bangkok. The ISP was 3BB, once he had completed the report, we then forwarded this to 3BB and they sorted out the issues quite quickly (within a couple of days).
If you would like to run this test on your connection please contact support.
As mentioned in previous posts, if you are experiencing any problems with our service, the best thing to do is contact our support team, this way we can deal with any issues you may have on a one to one basis.
Many Thanks,
Thai Expat TV Admin

Sorry, I don't subscribe to your service (your software crashes instantly on my computer). My observations were about general internet quality here.
Still, it's good that you have such a tool. If I experience the same problems when I move I may well subscribe to your service just to be able to make use of it!

Hello,
sorry, but reception is awful right now. Stoppages with frozen pictures on most channels.
I sincerely hope it will improve for the Remembrance Day Celebrations.
It has not been too good lately with intermittent sound bites.
Regards,.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Thai Expat TV
It is absolutely brilliant. 99% of the time, providing your line speed is at least 3Mb you won't have a problem. I do suffer sometimes because I have 3BB, and they have a packet loss problem - even then, the amount of times it's spoilt my viewing can be counted on one hand.
There is a free trial, so you can try it for yourself for a couple of days - no obligation. If you enjoyed TV in the UK, you will enjoy this service.

BB - forgive me asking a question that might be easily answered with a bit of research, but can you watch programmes when you like (or record them in some way) or are you restricted to a schedule?
This is the way
