Moto Riders
Anybody around Cha Am, Hua Hin or Pran Buri go riding for the ride? I have Honda sport bike and usually ride alone. Looking to see if any guys just ride to burn a day. I tried to hook up with riders on bigger bikes in BKK but most had never ridden or had limited experience and moving to Thailand was where they purchased their first bike which is way more then they can handle.

A touchy reply to a decent question. I guess you've had a bad day. BTW, there's no such thing as a Honda Harley.......lol. I know where you're come from though, most of the big bikes around here seem to be total noise machines, but the Thai bikers are just as much to blame. Saying that, it seems every second person wants their car, bike or truck to sound as loud as possible. The louder the machine, the faster it goes. Seriously though, I look at some of the choppers you see on the roads, and I wouldn't want one even if it was being given to me for free.
Now, if on the other hand you have a sports bike in need of a home, I'm sure I can provide it with all the love and affection it needs, at no cost to the owner either....lol.
I guess until such time I win the lottery, I'll have to be content with the old Honda Wave and it's side hack. I'll gladly go riding, but you'll have to let be have the route beforehand so I can set out the night before....lol.

The only thing dafter than a fat old expat on a big bike with a hanky on his head and a tiny BG perched on the pillion is a bike snob.

Hey, all kidding aside, I love my Wave. seriously. In fact it is fun to ride. I just happen to like my GP sport bike more. But I have both so I can ride based on my mood.
At the risk of being perceived as rude, I do not think I could ride with Harley folks. Maybe in the US I could have but here..well....its an entirely different set of riders. Being frank, I simply do not trust their riding skills. I have witnessed more foreigners fall off or into cars on Harley's then I care to remember. It is hard to respect a guy who is on a bigger bike wearing camo shorts, 80 baht flip flops, no gloves or helmets. It tells you something right up front. Some how some way they seem to come here and get one living out some bizarre fantasy that they had when younger and the bike is more then they can handle. Same goes for some big bikes guys I have witnessed.
Although a debate can be incited about wearing the right gear on the Wave I think locally and sober it is not necessary if you just putt along. A helmet should be a minimum but I am not here to cite my beliefs or support laws. When you ride with folks you have to know their skills and judgment making ability is square.
I am just looking to meet up, share some bike BS, meet a few guys, go for a ride, grab a bite to eat and have some fun. There are some nice open roads and some winding roads up in the mountains.
Honestly, I could meet up and go ride the wheels of my Wave if others wanted to do that. I will ride my Wave anywhere. I have ridden to Pran Buri, way up into the mountain 20 or 30kms past Cha-am. I'd ride it to BKK if there were guys wanting to do it...HAHAHA

Re: Moto Riders
Guys,
Looking for a run on the bike with someone who knows the area (Hua Hin) better than me.... getting a bit bored of the same old trip to Pranburi. Not up for a mental race cause I can't corner worth a f*ck.... I ride a Ninja 650 (or try to).
Cheers,
Ginjaninja.
