Watching Home Country TV using Slingbox

Post by Ken57 »

Good Morning HH

I wonder has anyone there experimented using a "SLINGBOX" device to watch their home countrys TV service via Broadband internet ?

I have seen this device ( google SLINGBOX ) advertised for around £100, it is a one off purchase.
Apparantly the SLINGBOX is connected to a live Broadband conneection and it permits the transmission of either Aerial or Satelitte TV signals via the Internet and can be recieved anywhere in the world via a PC.

Im not sure what model he has.
On a different note I was watching the bbc live last night on my buddies Ipad using expat telly.
I was very impressed with it i may subscribe myself.

Sling Box

Has anyone ever used a device called Sling Box?

I just started using it on advice from a friend. Works great.

How it works is slingbox.com Lol!

You buy a small "box" that you connect to your internet device, wifi works but direct connect works better. Then you connect it to your cable, satellite box.

You now have complete control of your home tv. Thats right, you now control your home tv from anywhere in the world.

Not a great description but I hope you get the point. Go to the website and read more.

Long story short, I bought the slingbox for 10,000baht in Canada. I now watch all my Canadian TV right here in Thailand. I can record pause rewind switch channels........ just like I would if I was on my sofa at home in Canada.
