I am planning to go to the beach this weekend, with the little ones.
This will be their 2nd time to the beach. Problem is one hates the sea, so does anybody know of a hotel where you can sit, eat and use the swimming pool with access to the beach.
I did venture to one hotel they were quite happy for you to use the shower facilities after being on the beach and quite happy for you to use the resturant but the pool was a no go.
Any Ideas would be much appreciated.
cheers

The Anantisila (spelling?) on Takiap beech don't seem to mind, but I think you will be expected to pay 50 per person, which then also gets you a clean towel. Good food, good setting, and a nice place all in all.
If you're looking for somewhere closer to town, then maybe try the Veranda which is just opposite before Market Village, on the opposite side of the road. Go down the little soi just before the foot bridge. Again, nice setting, good food, and direct access to the beech. The owners are also very nice Thai people who speak good English, if you feel like having a decent conversation while you're there. The only snag is that the pool is not very big.
Any idea as to why one of your kids hates the sea? Maybe the waves, and if that's the case, Takiap on the far side is ideal.

Thanks Takiap,
I have eaten at the Anantisila before didnt realize you could use the full facilities for a small fee.
May give Anantisila a try as its not in the town and I try to avoid town at the weekend.
Not sure why the little man doesnt like it, put him in the pool and he will float around for ages. It does takes him a while to get used to something new so We shall try again this weekend.
Many Thanks.

The Hyatt allows non-guests to use the facilities for a fee, which I don't think was all that much and they have a great pool with a water slide, a sort of small river with a waterfall you can swim in and a childrens pool that has sand like the beach - and the beach of course.

I haven't been there for a while but you used to be able to do that for a small fee at the military hotel at Suan Son beach.

Re: Lunch by the Beach
OK an update.
After last weekends weather pretty much put a stop to the beach, we headed out this morning and went to Anantisila today.
Once we parked we headed down the side of the pool, a couple of families there but not a lot. Spoke to the staff, paid 200THB to use the sun beds on the beach, which would then be used as credit against any purchases of food and drink.
Had a dip in the sea, kids this time both enjoyed the sea, its the sand and the waves on the shore they are not too keen on. Went back to the hotel, showered the kids and then went into the kids pool which was great. shallow not too cold, and separated from the main pool by a step.
Had Lunch food was great, staff friendly and attentive and a great price. All in all a lovely morning out. The kids slept the whole way home and then some.
I would certainly recommend this place for a great day down at the beach, if you have kids, you have all you need in one place.

Veranda Lodge at the end of the soi on the left to Marriott (Soi 67) has a really nice restaurant just on the beach. You can eat lunch there without being a hotel guest and the prices are relatively OK.
There are also deck chairs and a swimming pool - I guess that you could use the facilities for a certain fee?
