ATM problems
Yesterday I tried to make an atm withdrawal at the SCB ATM outside Makro in Pranburi. The machine processed the transaction and deducted the 10,000 baht from my overseas bank account but did not deliver the money. I tried to SCB, but all they tell me to do is contact my bank in US and file a complaint. They do not seem to have a system for dealing quickly with mechanical ATM problems here. Does anyone know the proper route to resolve a problem like this. It seems that they must have someone locally to investigate these sort of atm problems, but so far I have gotten no real help. Any ideas or experience with this sort of problem would be appreciated.

This happened to me about four years ago, and it was also for 10000 baht. I contacted my UK bank over the phone, and they tried to make me jump through a few hoops, i.e. wanting a letter from me as email would not do.
I persevered and insisting on talking to their manager, who eventually agreed to sort it out.
The matter was resolved fairly quickly, only a couple of days if I remember correctly, and they credited the 10000 baht back into my account.
As luck would have it, due to exchange rate fluctuations, I actually got more pounds back, which was a nice little bonus!

Happened to me also. Told to contact my bank in Canada who did the necessary paperwork. The bank here said the money was dispensed to me and that they had checked the machine. I did not receive the money back. I think there are corrupt bank employees.
