I know the girl wants the child as a course of trapping the pensioner even though she has probably left her previous thai kids back in Issan with the thai husband and the red tobacco chewing mother in law, but I just dont get why the old fat man wants to start again, and in most cases when she has dumped previous kids and his kids are older than his new wife

Yes, the silly old fat men should be sitting on a balcony under a blanket at some God forsaken retirement home, and the dumb you tart should be mixing concrete on a building site. Thank fcuk some people have such a clear cut vision of how life should be. Hell, you should start a professional counseling service.

Just for the record......................I'm not old, I'm not fat, and my wife is not a dumb tart, as some forum members can attest to, but nonetheless, I think your post is rather arrogant to say the least.

Why slander people because they may or may not be overweight?
Why assume any and all "old" men are silly/stupid, when in fact they may very well be far more intelligent than you?
Why is a young woman with an older man a "dumb tart", when in fact you don't even know her?

Sorry to say this pal, but I think you might be better off going back to wherever you come from, because not only are you insulting many Farang, but you're also having a hard time accepting the "Thai way", which is for the most part, live and let live.

All happy aren't they and didn't leave Tesco upset like yourself, and it isn't red tobacco,(figment of your imagination!) the daft old clown and dumb young tart would know that.

the topic is about things that really shocked you about Thailand, i was not meaning to offend, simply stating what shocked me most about Thailand.

I had heard about it years ago before I ever visited Thailand but its so funny to see when a daft cnutstruck ageing european is beleiving that this young girl is interested in anything other than money.

Interesting topic aside from the trolling from the usual suspects.

For me it has to be the noise, Thailand has an unhealthy obsession with noise, whether it is a case of simply shouting at each other when 3 feet away, advertising trucks and televisions blasting out mindless din, or having a party with a Woodstock speaker setup in the middle of a residential area with 24 hour music blasting so loud that paint peels. Everything has to be done at full volume.

Even after all of my years here it still gets my goat when the ignorant and selfish make enough noise to wake the dead with no regard for anyone else - and nobody complains!

The amount of stray dogs for me, and the Pooyibaan making sodding anouncements and playing music at 5.00am the village water tower has four PA horns volume full tilt. :cuss:

The real lack of sentiment is another when someone die's here it's all done dusted burn body big party and no more greaving.

Bingo Bango the red tobaco as you call it, is Beatle Nut prolonged chewing makes you stoned as it does have some narcotic properties, and i have tried it myself once just to learn about it as you do, :rasta: it really is quite plesent when your sat in the village doing sod all. 8) :D

For me like others have said before...littering. Not just littering, but villages with rubbish strew everywhere. I am currently not in HH, I am in Phuket, just to have a good look around for a week or so. Today I went to some side roads on the road from Phuket town to Rawai. I turned off to a Thai village...never have I seen such rubbish, a whole town full! I really mean rubbish when I say this..full on. The road went for about a mile leading down to the sea. It ended up in a boat yard with some great boats stored there. I took another route back, worse if that were possible. The swampy mangroves were clogged solid with litter, plastic bottles, mattresses, beer bottles, in fact any rubbish since the Tsunami! They do not make any attempt to clean it up, re-cycle etc. There was a small stream which was the awful greyish colour, looked polluted. I think the Thai's do not care about the environment, they can't do to live such a way. It is not poverty either, just because someone is poor, does not mean they can't clean their own crap up. It made me mad. Most of us would give our right arm to live in such a natural beautiful beach location. These people, sorry to say are just happy to sit on their porches, doing nothing.

I went on and took another left off the main road, ended u in a seafood restaurant...drove through to the car park...shock horror...fish tanks..first one prawns..ok, none dead..2nd tank bigger fish, not sure which...really murky water with 2 dead fish and about 15 others struggling for oxygen :banghead:
It has ruined me for seafood here now...what goes on behind the scenes, one wonders
Such a shame, I like other aspects...but destrying the planet is unforgivable.

A few surprises.. The reverse racism...How myopic and inward looking Thailand is..Sexist nature of the culture as in male compared to female... How a lie is not a lie... How Thai people think that is your not Thai your stupid and ignorant... How they say all is forgiven but then bring up that act years later still harbouring the transgression like it is fresh...How money can slove anything I.E crime and rank in Thai society....Wow there is so much more..But I will stop there..But I still love Thailand.sad huh?

I somehow don't think the above photo is genuine!?

For me, based on the O'P's original premise of your initial reaction, back in 1992 and having fully prepared myself (ha ha) of the scams, it was twofold:

1. Being taken aside at the airport by who? Checking my destination and being told after a call seemingly made in front of me, that my intended hotel was full and being offered another instead, came as a shock. Like, I expected to be able to get out of the airport scam free? But I had booked my whole trip through trailfinders, of which Thailand was just my 1st week, so I insisted on being taken to my pre-booked destination, which was met with a shrug.

2. Then I met my pre-booked taxi......

It was a good education, though I'm not sure how much has ever sunk in?

Your a bit of twat mate. You seem to assume alot. I am older then my wife and we have two beatiful mixed daughters as you called them. I and not skinny and more then likely fit your fat comment and as for being daft thats a given. I met my wife on a bus on the way from the beach but you would more then likely assume we met in a bar. She grew up in Bangkok but she must be Issan fromt he north. My wife gave up everthing she knew to come to Canada. Her family her understandings of how things work her comfort level in many situations. She has a degree in Engineering But I guess you would think of her as a dumb tart. (whats your degree in by the way?) As for no one wanting me(I do not drink) I to am also surprised she married me in ending I have to admit finally your correct in some sense as to why would she marry a git like me other then I treat her well.

The poor medical care at the basic (clinic) level and the lack of equity for farangs and others in society and the law, the overuse of chillies in food but these are much outweighed by the positives!
