Koh Tao boat trip

Post by roedoyle »

I've booked a few days in koh tao, leaving from hua hin, without finding out how to get there. Could anyone tell me the quickest way and from where?? Many thanks

Ferry from Chumphon. Which is around an hour and a half drive south of Hua Hin...
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

The best way is the combined bus & ferry ticket Hua Hin -> Chomphon -> Ko Tao with the Lomprayah company.

We can book it for you if you wish.

Barrys is spot on. The other boat options are far inferior in the main.

I'm not Barry but here goes... buses leave from the clock tower (Starbucks) on Phetchkasem about 8am. They get to the Lomprayah pier late morning and the boat pulls in to Koh Tao about 2:30pm (never checked my watch). Bus and boat included in the one ticket whether through Barry or a travel agent.

There are 2 services per day leaving from Hua Hin Clock Tower:

departure 08.30 - arrive Koh Tao 14.45
departure 23.45 - arrive Koh Tao 08.45

Price 1000 baht per person each way.
