Perhaps the Carling Cup results gives us a clue as to what to expect in the Premier League?

MC - Wolves 5-2. Score would be expected. (EDIT: This match repeats itself on Saturday)

Liverpool - Stoke 2-1. The only reason it was 2 is a late goal by Suarez. Liverpool still not performing well, and Stoke is not a tough team.

Chelsea - Everton. 2-1. See my Liverpool comments.

Blackburn - Newcastle 4-3. Appears no defense from either. Perhaps Newcastle's "luck" has run its course. Pete

The problem with making comparisons based on the Carling Cup, Pete, is that the top teams usually rest their best players for these games, since the Carling Cup has been bottom of everyone's priority list for years.

Except perhaps Liverpool?

Yes DM, we only made 8 changes.

Suarez first goal was a beauty.

I wasn't really trying to be contentious, BaaBaa, I just saw that Carroll and Suarez were both playing and assumed Liverpool had fielded a strong side. No harm if they did.

Liverpool have been taking it a bit more seriously this year though, you're right.

We're not in Europe so haven't got the amount of games that some have, plus we haven't won a trophy since 2006.

I'm a CPO since 1993, probably one of the 1st. Just need to know more about the plans rather than sell out on empty promises and end up back at square 1!

OK, Chelsea have a better starting point, but that's where the Green Army went wrong. 5 years ago they were one of the few clubs running in the black. They purchased the freehold, and the vultures started circling.

If your Russian decides he's had enough, beware of Japs (or similar) who may start lurking.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Its not an issue BB. There are two choices for Chelsea, see what can be done with the Bridge, or relocate. Its just that the club want to buy but haven't given enough info or consulted enough as to what the plans are? Theres only so much goodwill to go around.

Ken Bates set up CPO to ward off all the scum after Brian Mears and Viscount Chelsea sold the club down the river and the vultures were hovering. A few otherwise good reputations were tarnished along the way.

The fans just want re-assuring. The sale will happen, I'll get my 100 quid investment back at face value (loss, but who cares) and the club can progress to the next level.

Its just that some of us have long memories....

As a Spurs fan, watching Chelski vs The Arse is like watching your two favourite enemies doing themselves in...........................

But - what a game Chelski 3 the Arse 5 van Rental with a hat trick and now 28 goals in his last 27 games (I think).

Watching Ars'ole Whinger go from anguish to celebration is really entertaining and of course Torres 's acting skills (now that he is in a blue shirt) get better & better.

Good game, good for the EPL and (even though it hurts) - well done the Arse.

Sorry - for me, John Terry is a toss pot :neener:

I cannot forget the scene off him sitting on the pitch in Moscow after losing to Manure. Not Captain material an' all that - stiff upper lip is what you need.

The only stiff thing on Mr Terry is NOT his upper lip

Have to say well done to the Arse today. Unlike against Utd we can't even claim to have been the better team.

But just as I said here after the Utd game, I'm not so impressed with the new manager as half the press seem to be. You have to set up teams to defend well, which has always been one of out strengths, but perhaps at Porto he didn't have to worry about such things? In the premiership you do, but it doesn't seem to have been a concern of his all season and if he doesn't get that fact soon, then he will be history. Also a small fact of understanding that in the very top games, you have to play your best players. I hope he gets his act together.

I'll pass on the ignorant comments about JT above.

Are Chelsea fans embarrassed by the antics of Ivanovitch trying to get van Persie sent off? He was a disgrace. A great game for all Arsenal and neutral fans. Not often this season that we have a chance to gloat. Will all Premiership defences be as accommodating as Chelsea`s, I doubt it.
