Moonsmile and Platoo restaurants

On Poon(l)suk road at the end of Bintabaht is a posh italian restaurant, directly opposite is an outside eatery called Moonsmile and Platoo.

The food there is fantastic, the prices are great and the service is good.

There is one down side though, it gets very busy between 6pm and 10 pm it can be crowded with farangs and also claustrophobic, in high season at least.

it thins out about 10pm, that's when I tend to go, not for another 30 weeks though

That restaurant is one of the real good ones here and they do also carry a selection of superb Italian wines. It is my absolute favorite restaurant in HH.

La Grappa is in Poonsuk Rd.

Moon Smile and Platoo. It's the second Restuarant to the left when facing the Temple from Bintabaht.

Try Bam Bam a little further towards City Beach, Chicken hot pot dish is great. Moon smile has always been one of the top places to eat in town.

I have been eating at moonsmile and platoo (name of her son) for years and always said it was one of the best around.
As stated the downside is that it gets really busy.
But that's a sign of good quality food...

yep would agree the gung pak pong galee is superb sort of thai indian curry easy to eat not too hot............

My fave there is the guy pak pong galee. With a side order of garlic bread of course...

My favorite thai place in the tourist district.

Only complaint is same as for other restaurants with only one side open to the outside air. It takes just one <insert hostile adjective> <insert derogtory noun> with a cigar to make my food taste like ass.

Yes, it is good for sea food although to the best of my knowledge they do not carry a big range of fish or have the tanks like the restaurants close to the water.

try the king prawn with pineapple curry, it tastes really good although tends to be very spicy so be warned!!

But the very best is the Mussel, white wine and garlic hot pot with a serving of garlic bread.....once tried you won't have mussels any ware else!
