Terry wrote:Agreed - considering the status of the Dusit as a 5* place, the buffet prices are very reasonable.

Myself, Mrs T and our two boys are regulars for Sunday brunch when I'm home and the choice is ok

Prices are ok too - adults THB750++ and kids under 12 THB500++ - booze is extra

Staff are always pleasant
Hi Terry,

Not sure we've ever met in person, but think your kids go to the same school as my boy, Yamsaard.

Also had friends enjoyed the fishing experience at the park while staying here.

Hope you don't mind if I correct the prices for the Sunday lunch. It should be Baht600++ and half price (Baht300++) for the kids. If you are charged otherwise please make your concerns known to the staff.

If you are a regular, it might be worth investing in the Dusit Wine & Dine Card, which gives you up to 35% discount on food and 20% discount on beverage at all Dusit International properties.
There are also 30 vouchers which include complimentary accomodation.

Annual membership fee is baht6,500 which can soon be recouped.

Hope to say 'hello' sometime. :thumb:

Good to know that the Dusit continues to maintain such a high standard.
Remember the night well. The challenge is always to improve on those standards and it ain't always easy.

Hope you'll be back before too long.

And how out does that apply? We're about 6Kms out of town towards Black Mountain......
Assuming you're dining with us, we're happy to offer complimentary pick-up within a 25-kilometre radius of the hotel. We want you to enjoy the evening and a drink without worrying about getting home safely. After all, we'd like our customers to come back again and again.

We find it's a win-win arrangement

Oh, by the way, 24-hours advance notice is appreciated when pick-up is required.

Sorry for any offence, though self-promotion was certainly not our intention, more a polite attempt to offer thanks and answer outstanding questions that had been posed by previous posters.

We apologise, accept our smack on the wrist and consider ourselves suitably humbled and admonished:oops:

Hope we don't get in trouble with the moderators if we say 12.00 noon - 2.30P.M.
Generally, no advance booking is required as the restaurant seats 300.
However, reservations can be made to guarantee a nice table on 032-520009 (local call from Hua Hin) or 032-442100 (local call from Cha-am) and ask for the Food & Beverage Office.

DTHH, never mind the humility  , get with the programme and become a sponsor! I'm a full-time HH resident, and I'll be visiting the carvery at some point soon, simply because of what I've seen posted on here.

(Goodness - you're still self-promoting. Surely the Dusit Thingy can afford an HHF ad? :? )
This is the way

Surely the Dusit Thanni has a marketing budget for such things, our rates are very competitive and cheaper than all local magazines, an advertorial would cost about the same per month as a beer from the minibar in one of your rooms. Please contact us on the link provided, further self promotion will be edited.

I would just like to add that the Xmas meal at the Dusit falls into the same category.

My wife and I and friends have been there for the last two years and plan on doing the same this year. A truly gastronomic feast in beautiful surroundings.

If you are really lucky you may even get to see Santa dancing with his trumpet!!
If you give 'em a quick short, sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it?

went to dusit back in 00 when i first arrived in hh. was 250 baht on sunday then ,a steal. the food was a reflection of the chef then as it is now. the chef then was a dago and he always had a great pasta and 1-2 beef dishes. he was an excellent chef and stayed for 3 years. the next chef liked fish and if you liked fish then you were happy. i was sad. stayed with the salad bar and desserts. during my time in thailand i always thought that the dusit was one of my top 3 eating experiences. not just the food but the majesty of the resturant, the beauty of the grounds, the whole parking in the lot and walking up to this specticular resort, hopping up the stairs and then walking into a stunning lobby. it was grand. nobody from town ever went there except for me and my business partner larry. i posted a couple of times in hhad[when it first started] but it never made an impression. i am glad that op[terry] found it and listed the whole sunday menu for the buffet. that seemed to catch the eye of alot of folks. it's about time hh found this terrific sunday outing. enjoy.

Old thread but worth bumping.

We went there twice in February 2012 and everything was as good as this thread says! Very many different dishes, even tough you could stick to the lobster, if that's your preference. Unfortunately it's easy to eat to much of the starters, so there might not be much room for the main dishes.

The deserts where great and the cheese... I guess that i would have to pay the same amount for the cheese I ate at Villa Market as i did for the whole dinner at Dusit.

Needless to say, the service was excellent!

Totally, including taxes etc we payed 1883 THB per person (tip not included), of course with the free flow of wine! Quite a bargain considering what you get in my opinion!

If I understood them correctly we did live to far away for taxi service. We lived south of HH, a couple of kilometers into soi 114. I guess the taxi service only is for more central parts of HH. No big problem, a TukTuk is only a phone call away...

We have been in Thailand many times and tried a few hotel buffets. Usually we have ended up disappointed. Not this time. In fact, these dinners are among the absolutely best I have ever had in Thailand!

So, Dusit, please stock up your wine cellar, we will be back!
