Hua Hin in Late August
Hi All , Im new here but travelling with the family to Hua Hin at the end of August and wondered what to expect weather wise? Ive heard that ,even though its rainy season it isnt as bad in Hua Hin as it is further South. Is this correct?

Yes it's usually less wet than in the southern provinces, where flooding is often a major problem with runoff from the more hilly terrain down there. Having said that there was some flooding in parts of HuaHin more out of town last year, and when it is heavy the streets in the centre can be temporarily awash. But usually it is short, sharp, but often very heavy storms, and with high humidity. After an hour the sun can be out again and it dries up quickly.
I think you will find weather trends somewhere around here. As with anywhere else the weather is becoming less predictable though and last years monsoons went on well into November - later in the south. Fortunately the main drains in HuaHin cope much better than they used to!

Hello,
I stayed also end of aug 2009 in Hua Hin. The weather will be Ok. You get some cloudy skies and we have every Day some rain - but not to long and not very heavy - even it is still warm.
