Get yourself a real email provider, both Hotmail and Aol are notorious for blocking genuine messages and blanket blocking IP addresses of entire countries (Thailand included).

Those that still use Hotmail for anything important deserve all they get - you may as-well give it to the dog to deliver ...

100no. 'Processes' open using 1.5GB RAM... before I open any 'additional' programs/internet... can't be right can it?:
Just added 2GB more to make 4GB, so guess it's not a problem exactly but, does this seem OTT?

How do I know which processes are needed, and which just slow me down? (other than turn it off and kill my computer! )

The only think I can think of is that Hotmail is owned and operated by Microsoft. Pete

This is a very good resource for tweaking services and applications in Windows 7: http://www.blackviper.com/2010/12/17/bl ... gurations/

Everyone will have a different list depending on what they've installed so it maybe easier to post it if you want to know what to disable.

Sj little device does not sound too promising. I have fairly decent internet via TOT and can work in the sala roughly 15m from the box but cannot reach any further. Total land area is only 2000 sqm roughly 50x40m. Having just built an office some 30m from the box what can I do to boost the signal?

How do I copy and display?

I can't "select" or highlight, the whole screen.

Thanks!

Take a look at this about a screen shot. Explains how to do it based upon whatever ops system you have. Pete

Not a lot I had a similar problem between the floors in my villa which is why I tried the Wireless-G Range Expander. It was ok for PC's but MAC's and Sony/WI units did not like it. I got a second router and hardwired between them, one was set with static IP address to avoid conflicts, this way we have WiFi on both floors.

You can try the Wireless-G Range Expander but I suggest you get it on sale and return if possable

Thanks Whaler

Looks like it is the sala for now then. The others all have PC but I use Macs. The IPstar covered the whole area but it was as slow as a slug and 3 times the price.

Your welcome :D

BTW the Iphones were ok with it, I think if you find the manual online it only says pc compatable :( it;s also not compatable with the newer routers, I tried it with my Linksys 160N

Question:
I've been mucking about with PC lately doing back-up's, running Malware checks, CCleaner cleans/registry fixes, update Firefox from 4.01 to 5.00, adding FF add-ons etc, but nothing specifically internet 'security/privacy' wise that I recall. Now what I have is when I click online help in programs (even Win7 stuff like moviemaker, or WMP) it opens a word document version. Click on the 'hyperlinks' in that and I get the following message...
jhgkjhkj.jpg
Anyone shed any light on what to adjust, my money would be on FF update, been through it but can't see anything, even put the moviemaker address under all the allow 'exceptions' boxes?

Many thanks, but I've got round it now by buying some network cable and a wireless access point for 1,400 Baht
