Are you sure about this doc ?
I have just been to Germany
and thought that the EColi is
just around Lubeck area ?

Germany is a rather big country
and the middle and south have
not had any sick people as far
as I know. Unless they havent
been eating in the north ?

I agree but anybody on a plane from Germany may have mixed with people from the infected area. I read last night that the number of newcases is declining,
Got sei Dank

Great news, Dr. Mike!

I really do need to wander down to your facilities and take a look, *before* I have some crisis where I don't have the leisure of time.

Such a deal! An offer I shouldn't refuse. So, if I show up in the lobby and ask at the "front desk" for Dr.Mike, they'll know who you are, right? :thumb:

A public thanks to Dr.Mike for a nice facilities tour today and a good overall chat about things in general. Too bad nobody else was there to join us, but I was happy to monopolize his attention.

MEDICAL CARE & TRAVEL:
A situation occurs quite frequently and can lead to missunderstandings and problems with Medical Insurance companies.
A patient has care in the hospital, after 3 or 4 days we are quite happy for the patient to leave the hospital and have a quiet time in HH, but are not happy in them taking an 18 hour journey back to their own country.
If they are leaving to continue to recover in their condo or house all is usually well, but if they are staying in a hotel problems can arise. The med Ins company will almost never pay for the hotel room and yet will not consent to them staying in hospital so the patient has to pay for the hotel room themselves.

Does anyone know if you can get a shoulder MRI at Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin and, if so, what the approximate cost is? Regards, Luke

The MRI scanner is being installed right now but has to be tested and inspected by the authorities, so will noit be in use for a couple of weeks.

Dr Mike, this reads a bit like the pot calling the kettle black to me. In my poor wife's case, Bangkok Hospital, Hua Hin were not prepared to wait for my insurance company's agent, who had been working with Bangkok Hospital, Hua Hin for a couple of days to pay up. I was told that I had to pay the bill immediately, or incur a further 7,000 Baht per day hotel fees while I you waited.

While I have no problem with my wife's treatment - in fact the doctor's were excellent; I was disgusted with the way my wife's discharge was paid.
