Identify this vegetable?

This has Mrs deepee and self disagreeing that this is Roselle as that is a finely wooded tree species but the photo Homer presents has to be a wetland plant - it's very fleshy with what appears to be a light root system- typical of a plant that grows in or near water.The Mrs says she thinks she saw this plant in markets up north but is at a loss for it's common name.

The Long Haired General seems to think they look very much like the ''Huang Hua'' (yellow flower) that the Chinese love to eat in their hotpot here in Chongqing during the summer months.

After doing a quick search, found the following illustration in which the ''budding'' plant at the rear certainly bears a strong resemblance.

Although could be lost a little in translation and just look like the actual plant the Long Haired General is referring to.

Well I thought there was only one way to sort this out, so I went down to Villa Market and purchased this "Organic Vegetable" and asked the young lady behind the vegetable counter what it was. She wrote

but searching on the web doesn't bring this up.

Tastes a bit "green" and a bit like a raw mushroom. Other than that probably just decoration in a salad.

Well, I had the vegetable in a Salad last night and I'm still here.
Definitely not courgette flower not sure if it Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus unless there is a white flowered variety.
