Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
Any updates on pricing for the CBR250 ? I've read that it has jumped to as much as 160k due to demand and a shortage of them in Thailand. It makes the Ninja at 147k a more attractive option.

Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
The highest I have heard is 140,000THB for ABS and 120,000THB for standard
It was released in India on the 21st of March, priced at 96,000THB standard, and 113,000THB ABS.
So that will ease the supply issues here and the price may/should come back down, to 105,000THB standard and 120,000THB ABS.

Thanks, yet to have a test ride ... what, in your opinion as an owner, are the pros and cons of the beast?

Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
I have been riding motorbikes for 38 years, sports bikes, cruisers, dirt bikes and I would say that this little Honda has to be one of the best.
Pros
Handles real easy, well balanced, great in traffic, comfortable on long rides and you can quite easily cruise at 140kph on the highway if you so wish.
I have been away on a couple two and three day trips used a tanks bag and no problems
Cons
Due to work commitments I have done less than 3000km, but so far I can’t think of any.

Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
I've not read the last posts on here but I'm assuming you drive this thing back in your home country as anyone with a single brain cell still functioning wouldn't dream of doing that speed on Thai roads.and you can quite easily cruise at 140kph on the highway if you so wish.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!
Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
140 kmh is only about 80 mph, not really the devil incarnate to be honest. On these roads here it's a little bit of a gamble of course, but Dozer is probably refering to the highway, and to be fair, he (Dozer) did mention "if" it was your thing, thus implying that he doesn't do it/encourages it and drives under that figure usually, OK, sure the odd burst as with all bike riders.
Don't think he said/implies that that is how he operates all the time.
However, if I have read it wrong then am open to correction as have had a couple of beers already tonight.

Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
I did note that in his post. What struck me though was that at some point he needed to open up to be able to give that opinion. May be wrong but I haven't seen a road in Thailand for a while where I would consider opening up to that speed. Maybe he just gave it a quick burst and slowed again.and to be fair, he (Dozer) did mention "if" it was your thing, thus implying that he doesn't do it/encourages it and drives under that figure usually

The only reason I've never had a motorcycle is because of the way you have to dress:

I not sure what the dork said, I have him on ignore, but yes you are correct Spitfire, I don’t ride here at 140kph, but it’s there if you want it.Spitfire wrote:140 kmh is only about 80 mph, not really the devil incarnate to be honest. I'm going to bite at thatE-Dork wrote:I've not read the last posts on here but I'm assuming you drive this thing back in your home country as anyone with a single brain cell still functioning wouldn't dream of doing that speed on Thai roads.and you can quite easily cruise at 140kph on the highway if you so wish.

I can assure you that I've been on biker tours where if you DON'T go at 140 kph you'll be left behind and see you later!

It's safe if you know the road, are hyper vigilant and there's no U-Turns.
I've been biking for 10 years in Thailand, never had a smash yet

As for me I don't hit 140 kph these days, no need, but the powers there if I have to

I normally cruise about 100 kph.
E Dork you chose that name with skill and care I see...
Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS
E-Dork, if the fate of the world depended on you hammering it up the highway on a sportsbike at 140 kph would you do it? Or would your little chicken-heart suffer a seizure and cack itself?
