CLEOPATRA was always one of my favorite sand n sandals epics..... she was a stunner in her day and left a great legacy in film.

I don’t know how the British media is treating this, but here in the States it’s a major news item,the Americans have always treat her as one of their own.
She was the first female superstar, an absolute stunner in her day.

Liz as Katarina & Burton as Petruchio - Shakespere to the masses in 'The taming of the Shrew' - that's apart from 'Cleopatra', 'Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf.'

They were dynamite and the last of their kind.

R.I.P. both of them

It puzzled Burton that she was so good for the camera, he, a theatre trained actor struggled for a while.

As a boy she was in my dreams. :thumb:

For me 'Cat on a hot tin roof' was a wonderful film to show her talents.
